About this project
The citizens of the Empacta skies long for the days where everyone, not just the wealthy, can ditch their masks and breathe the precious air that they call their home. As an industrialist, you will collect dust particles from the air and water vapor from the clouds to convert to hydrogen and oxygen.
By collecting, converting and selling these precious resources, you can provide your family with the breathing room that you need to keep your business afloat and go home at night knowing you made a difference to the world with fresh air.
Players are industrialists in the clouds, pulling dust from the air to create stone, and condensing water vapor to use and convert to hydrogen and oxygen. By collecting and converting resources, they need to fulfill specific contracts. The player who is the most successful at fulfilling the contracts and has the most resources at the end of the game wins.
Ahead in the Clouds is a two player game designed by Daniel Newman with art by Bryan Fischer. Gameplay lasts 15-30 minutes (you will immediately want to play again) and recommended for ages 12 and up.
The game consists of:

This is part of our Wallet Line and will be packaged in a small vinyl wallet, perfect for taking it on the go. It's pocket-sized, portable and protective... and has proven itself with our growing line of wallet games.

The Bonus Pack consists of 2 new Impacta Skies Industrialist character cards and 9 chipboard tokens for tracking. 8 of the tokens are double sided character tokens to track contracts, and the 9th token is to track the rounds/blimp.

Ahead in the Clouds is Daniel's first game to be published. In 2017, Jellybean Games will be publishing Tomb of Doom! (co-designed with Peter C. Hayward) which is based on Daniel's design Enemy Anemone, a finalist for the 2016 Cardboard Edison Award. He has several other games in various stages of review and development, so keep an eye out for more from him soon!
Button Shy is the little guy in the big competitive board game world. Instead of trying to compete with the many great publishers out there, we decided to do things our own way. We order Wallet Games in parts and assemble them here in the US. It's an old fashioned mom and pop style operation, releasing high quality, yet personal little games.
We release a new game each month and have a great following of repeat customers. As a result, we've built the Board Game of the Month Club, a subscription service where you receive unreleased microgames, promo cards, a newsletter with interviews and game-related comics, and big Kickstarter discounts.... every month.
Risks and challenges
We've done our homework and have as much ready as possible before even launching the Kickstarter, but there are always challenges once it's completed. There may be factory delays or errors, which can cause delays for fulfillment. We've had this issue previously and managed to turn it into a positive thing by providing extra content in the final version of the product.
