Who's Doing This?
That'd be me, Kris. I work as a Graphic Designer just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. My husband and I have two daughters. They are six and three. We believe they're capable of doing anything. We feel it's important that they believe it too.
What is THIS GIRL'S TEES?
The idea for THIS GIRL'S TEES came about gradually as our girls have grown and started attending school. We've noticed that many of the images and identities marketed towards them through fashion fall short of what we know they're capable of. In turn, there are few clothing options that reinforce what girls ARE capable of.
So I decided to create one.
THIS GIRL'S TEES are t-shirts that celebrate what girls CAN do, which is, of course, anything they set their minds to. With a few months of hard work and late nights, I've finally arrived at the Kickstarter phase. That's where you come in.
The Mission & Concept
I've finalized four of my initial shirt concepts, presented below. After careful review, I've chosen a small locally-owned and run artisan screen printing shop to produce my shirts. My designs will be printed on American Apparel brand, 4.3 oz 100% cotton fine jersey short sleeve shirts in four awesome colors. All shirts will be offered in youth sizes 6-12 and adult sizes Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. The ink colors I've chosen are modern but not excessively or stereotypically "girly." Girls do like blue. And yellow. Truth.

What You're Supporting
THIS GIRL'S TEES is a project of passion. I want these shirts out there. I want girls to have them and wear them and embrace the messages that they contain. I need your help to bring my product to market. This Kickstarter campaign was created to fund the first run of shirts. If successful, I plan to grow the brand further through online and traditional markets, bringing more shirts to smart, strong girls everywhere!
The rewards for supporting my campaign are detailed to the right, but should also include knowing you're bringing about change on a small but significant level, one girl at a time.
Risks and challenges
Although there are always risks, I expect mine to be minimal as I've sold creative work online for many years. My first set of designs are ready, shirts have been selected, the ink colors finalized, and other than the possibility of a few minor design tweaks, I'm ready to go!
I expect completed shirts within two-three weeks after the final reward selections have been completed. My plan is to ship all of the rewards within one week after receiving the finished product. If there are any timeline adjustments I will keep my backers informed during and after the campaign.
