Solamors (ex Becoming the Archetype/Aletheian) release their first full length preview of an unfinished song from their debut effort "Depravity's Demise".
This is an unmastered rough mix of a song in-progress. We busted our butts and worked super-hard to get you some awesome metal as quickly as possible, so even though it is a work-in-progress... we wanted to give you some music so, ENJOY!
Hello world! Welcome to the kickstarter campaign for the melodic death metal band Solamors. Thanks for checking us out!!
If you don't know by now, Solamors is a project involving a few former bandmates Jason Wisdom (Becoming the Archetype), Alex Kenis (Becoming the Archetype, Aletheian/Crutch) and Travis Turner (Aletheian/Crutch, Unteachers). We are getting together to give you some great metal in a format that allows us to branch out in different ways than you are used to... you see, with a new project, it is a clean slate, an empty canvas. It is a new and exciting opportunity to give fans a different flavor of what we already know they love.
There are a few things about the handling of this project that are unique for us: Firstly, this project started from a concept, which then grew into music, and then became a band. That is backward from the way a CD usually happens, and it allowed us to write the music unencumbered by pressure and expectation.
Secondly, we are handling as much of this project personally as we can. That means that everything involved will be handled by us and our close associates, and that there will be absolutely no aspect of the project that happens against our wishes.
Thirdly, the $$ for this project is all coming straight out of our pockets... that is GOOD because we get to call all the shots and can hopefully get you some different and interesting material that you will really like... but it is also BAD in that the quality/depth/breadth of the project correlates directly to how much $$ we can raise to support it... that is where YOU come in....
The kickstarter fundraiser format lets the FANS help to call the shots on what they want from a band. So for example, if we meet our minimum goal, then we will be able to put out a CD of great music for you. If we raise a little more $$, we will be able to put out a video as well... a little more $$ beyond that and we can get some better gear to record with and be able to spend more time on the material... a little $$ beyond that and we can spend more on publicity, which hopefully turns into better album sales... which increases the likelihood of future releases, etc etc etc. So the scope of the project AND the future of the band is in your hands...
Risks and challenges
After we meet out kickstarter funding goal... then the hard work starts. I always like to tell people that writing the music is about 10% of the work of getting a recording out. Once we have our funding, we still have the obstacle of collaborating across 3 states, coordinating recordings from 3 different studio settings, then the mix, master, pressing, mailing, distribution... physical/digital, marketing publicity, ads, web site, social media messages, updates, etc etc etc AAAAAAAAAHHHH!
It is a huge challenge to be doing all this on our own, but we are committed to making it happen.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
