1) Material. We currently use the highest quality neoprene available to us on the market. Through funding we will be able to switch to an equally high quality neoprene that is also sustainable, made out of Limestone!
2) Convertible. Wear in warm to chilly waters. Our Ensemble Style is a 2mm wetsuit. Add or subtract layers depending on the temperature.
3) 100% Reversible. Original hand drawn patterns are sublimated onto our neoprene, for a long lasting original style. Go pattern, or go timeless black.
4) Made in America. Sewn locally, in Santa Ana, California.
5) Designer/ Consumer. Designed by woman surfers, for woman surfers.

Four styles, endless options..
About Starfysh Wetsuits™
Starfysh Wetsuits™ is a women's wetsuit company founded by water woman and designer, Alyx Tortorice. Though designed with female surfers in mind, Starfysh offers great wetsuit options for women active in a wide variety of watersports. Our Ensemble Style Wetsuits are designed with removable arms and legs for easy adaptability to a broad range of water temperatures and conditions. All of our current styles can be layered and mixed and matched.
When Starfysh is successfully funded we plan on expanding, to include a wide variety of wetsuit styles. Currently Starfysh comes in a 1.5mm and a 2 mm option, appropriate for Southern California's fall, spring, and summer temperatures. We are ready to produce thicker suits to carry our surfers through the winter months and colder climates in style.
Through funding we will also be able to switch to a sustainable neoprene. We are very excited to have found a material made from limestone that can be used in rubber products like neoprene. With Kickstarter funding we will be able to purchase this groundbreaking neoprene and work towards a greener future!
For now we are excited to get you our new 2016 Wetsuits, last seasons suits, and a variety of accessories and prizes through funding our project!
Starfysh is run by a small team of creators and innovators, headed by Alyx Tortorice and her partner Madeline Javier. A long time goal of ours is to open our own factory in Southern California. Here we would be able to keep our costs low, our employees happy and our wetsuits warm. For now we work with an awesome local factory that is ready and able to produce larger orders as soon as we are successfully funded.
Starfysh Wetsuits™ Ensemble Style have a unique "S Lock" closure system that is equally comfortable and functional. The "S Lock" was trial tested and refined until we arrived at the perfect solution. This innovation in surfwear technology is currently patent pending. With your contribution Starfysh will be able to further protect this design and use it in a wider variety of products.
All Starfysh Wetsuits™ are completely reversible, featuring colorful, head-to-toe patterns on one side and sleek, timeless black on the other. All of our patterns and designs are hand drawn exclusively for Starfysh Wetsuits™. Reversibility allows mixing and matching, and ensures that Starfysh ladies never get bored in their suits!
Starfysh Wetsuits™ are for educated consumers who support innovative, performance-oriented and sustainable fashion.
All Starfysh Wetsuits™ are designed and made in Southern California. Stoke and passion included.

Risks and challenges
FABRIC & MATERIALS • All materials, down to the thread and screen printing, are waiting at our factory for production to begin. We are fully prepared to produce our next generation of suits.
SEWING • We’re working with a small, family factory in Santa Ana, California. I’ve worked with them on several previous garments. They do great work, and care about their clients and products!
OUR FIRST TEST RUN • We have already produced and sold 100 wetsuits just to ensure that we’re ready for large production and sales. Everything went smoothly with a lot of positive feedback and we have started growing the number of our happy customers!
There will always be unforeseen challenges in manufacturing, but everything we've done to plan, test, and prepare has been well-considered. Most importantly, I'll keep you updated on our progress!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
