Steam early access exists for Linux too, doesn't it? I am eagerly awaiting GODUS' coming to Linux.

    2. Creator Niels on October 22, 2013

Just played yesterday and I like what I see so far and will explore some more.

What I don't like is that it's still too click intense as far as my hand started to hurt and I think that games should be fun and not about hurting yourself (except for those people and games that are designed that way). Specially in Multiplayer battles and in collecting believe and knocking on doors.

Sometimes buildings got destroyed when I just wanted to knock on their doors.

    3. Creator Jean-Michel Poirier on October 21, 2013

Same here .... Quite disappointing =(

    4. Creator Daniel on October 20, 2013

I've still not received my key yet =(

    5. Creator Jean-Michel Poirier on October 14, 2013

I pledged at the ACOLYTE level, but did not receive any key. I would greatly enjoy if it could be corrected soon =)

    6. Creator ZILLA on October 13, 2013

Daniel: I'm a benefactor. I received both my game keys September 13th. I have not yet received a familiar but I don't believe that's in the game yet.

Apparently my game just needed to be restarted to generate/show the belief bubbles again. Perhaps related to resetting my homeworld? I have no idea. It's fixed now though.

I've only played few hours of this game total and my hand hurts from just this session of clicking too much (sculpting land, instead of collecting belief now). I realize that later in the game there are things that reduce the pain of the collection process and maybe some stuff that eases the land sculpting process, but I can't be bothered to suffer through & make it to that point... So still unimpressed with all the clicking I have to do to sculpt land and collect belief, since neither is a fluid tool. Also, as someone else mentioned the sculpting is unpredictable. It's frustrating. The right click seems to work just as erasing land, but sometimes double left clicking expands land -- sometimes it erases it. WHICH IS IT LEFT CLICK? MAKE UP YER MIND

    7. Creator Daniel on October 12, 2013

has anyone who pledged as a benefactor received their code yet? I've still yet to get mine

Yachmenev: >"It's not perfect, not at all, but it does have that gameplay mechanic that keeps you playing, the feel of old Populous, and something more. And that's what I wanted from this kickstarter. "

      That's very good to hear.

    9. Creator Philip Turner [AKA PianoPhil @ FD Forum] on October 10, 2013

I started again with the new update and all it looks nice. Just a couple of points.

      1. On the first plain when you reach main landfall there seems to be some gems on the right hand side near the cliffs - how do I collect them?
      2. It would be useful if for the settlements you could see how much area they cover before placing them down since I have gaps in between settlements. Also would prefer if each settlement covered a slightly larger area.
      3. The Battle Plan with xxAmyxx has changed from actual battles to who can grow the fatest population. Is this correct? Are there no battles in the beta?
      4. I see from below references to farming. How do I start farming or will my followers do it automatically?

      Thanks
      Phil.

    10. Creator Sam Henager on October 8, 2013

I really like how the game is progressing; I think it looks really excellent. Sculpting the landscape is quite satisfying, though about 25% of the time, it feels a bit out of control.
Settlements are a bit... frustrating still. For one, it's still not clear which abodes will be included in a settlement when you place it. And another has to do with the storm mechanic. Up to farming, pure population expansion is the goal, so I just created areas for abodes everywhere, and didn't bother to create settlements. (Yes, I know settlements increase population, but I didn't always have the gems for settlements. And I like hearing Bach every time I go to collect belief, so the extra clicking from unaffiliated abodes didn't really bother me.) But then when storms started all these abodes are getting damaged, And then to repair them I have to sprog a bunch of followers, which gets tiring when it happens after every storm. From how they affected me, I'm guessing the storms are supposed to prod me to create more settlements, but then I feel really bad about the few abodes that get stuck just outside the radius of settlements. Part of me wants to just let them get destroyed, but then I feel about letting these homes get destroyed... It's made me feel quite conflicted.
Anyway, my main complaint here is that during the primitive age I'm being pushed to expand out as much as possible, but then once the bronze age starts, it feels like the storms are punishing me for that expansion. It feels very contradictory and much less fun.

    11. Creator Clay Brooks on October 7, 2013

I think the 1.3 update added some good fixes and content but overall I think it was a step backwards. Initially, the only way to expand and grow your civilization was to literally expand your people across the land. This was great, always sculpting and doing things the game was designed for you to do. BUT as soon as farming was introduced, everything stopped. The only way to grow your civilization was to wait on your farmers to bring in food. There is nothing you can do to speed up the process except creating new towns/villages to create more farming plots. The easiest, fastest way to advanced your civilization now is to literally sit back, relax and wait for your farmers to do everything. I love the farming aspect, but I think there needs to be OTHER conditions in which to grow your civilization, say 1000 crops AND an extra 5000 people. Combine the farming with other conditions, this way the player is actually motivated to sculpt/destroy/plot/mine/etc to advance the civilization. But still, love the farming addition.

As unusable in Wine as before.

been playing this a lot and liking it. finding lots of empty treasure chests and got a shrine of expansion that didn't expand! hope I don't have to start again.

    14. Creator Yachmenev on October 6, 2013

Restarted my game, and the update feels good so far. Still got a feeling that progression might a bit to linear, but I guess that's to be expected from an early access.

It's not perfect, not at all, but it does have that gameplay mechanic that keeps you playing, the feel of old Populous, and something more. And that's what I wanted from this kickstarter. The first version felt "meh", but now I really want to keep playing and see where this game goes.

      Good work 22 Cans!

    15. Creator Jason McMillen on October 6, 2013

The game updated and did offer me a Restart, but I wanted to see what it did to my world so I said no. But now I'd like to restart to see how the game flows now with the update, but nothing seems to allow me to do so after I said no the first time. Did I really only have one shot at restarting and it's gone now? Could we not make this something that we can do at any time instead of after a major update?

    16. Creator Styggron on October 5, 2013

@Henrik Looks that way. Hopefully not but their Betas are exclusively steam with no direct download so prob no Linux version until final. :-(

    17. Creator Paweł K. on October 5, 2013

Delete folder 'prfXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX' (random digits and letters) located in 'Steam\SteamApps\common\Godus\windows' (probably in you have steam installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\) and you'll start from the beggining.

    18. Creator Linda Zaal on October 5, 2013

I got the update. but I also wanted to restart but a card popped up and I wanted to close the card and book. but instead somehow clicked I didnt want to restart. is there any other way to restart?

    19. Creator Phillip Haydon on October 5, 2013

Game is just as bad as the first release. Sigh.

    20. Creator Henrik Danielsson on October 5, 2013

Not a word about a Linux beta yet. Starting to look like you don't care.

    21. Creator Jake Kuska on October 5, 2013

      I'll second Sami's observation.

I figured out that I needed to focus on expansion of land toward the mainland above all and less on the expansion of the island beyond getting the growth cards. I did get caught up in a 15 minute wait while a few belief bubbles popped as, I don't like eating trees for belief though a few were destroyed as I needed some space to setup pop centers.

    22. Creator Sami Hangaslammi on October 5, 2013

A start a complete new game from scratch with 1.3 and the balance in the beginning seems completely out of whack now that felt tents no longer produce any faith. I managed to get one wood hut up before running completely out of faith points and now I'm just waiting, waiting, waiting for that one house to produce meager amounts of faith so I can expand further.

    23. Creator JEDII on October 5, 2013

I haven't gotten around to 1.3, but in the previous version my scrapbook table of contents never updated. I didn't see that addressed in the notes.

    24. Creator Paul on October 4, 2013

I played the previous version until I hit the wall of no chests an no ability to proceed. Maybe 10 or so hours. There were some pain points but it was playable.

      1.3 is just broken...
More chests added...yay! Having them all have the same resource I didn't need 10 times in a row BOO! Having the following chests be EMPTY absurd. This is what finally made me rage quit.

      Other observations:
land sculpting now likes to go in random directions often. This is especially infuriating when it destroys land when you're trying to created land. (both with double and single click versions) I was constantly trying to pull houses back together after accidentally destroying them.

towards the northwest there is a new shrine added on a mining patch. to the north east of that there was some sort of beacon of light. It's very unclear what that is and digging didn't seem to reveal anything.

One of the bug notes said settlements will now always collect belief (they would often stop working before) now I can collect ONCE and they all stopped collecting belief (I have 4)

The beacon for the most part doesn't appear to attract followers unless they are pretty much beside it (though randomly I'll get guys from far away.

People walking to the beacon will stop to build houses... this is frustrating when you're placing the beacon so you can build larger houses.

Cliff sculpting is now very glitchey and suffers random slow-downs. (about 50% of the time)

I'm trying not to be over dramatic here, but I was really looking forward to the improvements and find that half-an-hour in I can stand playing the game. I look forward to 1.3.1 now I guess...

Oh, one last thing. The feedback form is NOT a feeback form... it's a survey. I expected it to be some sort of bug report tool. I would think that would be much easier than trying to read all these comments. oh well. Keep working on it guys!

    25. Creator Brotacon on October 4, 2013

Okay so I'm liking the changes and advancements so far once I got mining the gems started rolling in so I was able to bypass a lot of the 2 hour constructions with a bit of digging (and clicking, I'm starting to think Peter has some sort of magic mouse hand that's made of re-enforced steel). Can I just ask though:

In the final online game, will these times tick over when we're not directly playing? Because it seems like the timers on some of the buildings and structures are geared with that in mind.

Also is there any plan to implement some resources or advancements to not be chest based but instead research based or infrastructure based at a later date. I can't imagine it being very cohesive if when we start to reach more advanced ages and followers are chilling in 17th Century mansions; that they still will be relying on us to go digging for chests and dragging them to archaic breeding battles in order to get some mystical card.

    26. Creator Jeff on October 4, 2013

How do you reset world? Mine never gave the option to do so.

    27. Creator Maik on October 4, 2013

I found so many bugs in this release that it is nearly unplayable now:

      1) Followers are ignoring the totem totally. Building big houses is now nearly impossible. Normally I would set the totem and then destroy houses (followers now pray at the totem). Now I have time to sculpt the land to get big houses then I would deactivate the totem. This is now impossible. As soon as there is a "1" space, my people are beginning to build there.

      2) Two new shrines are unter water (north and west) and can't be build.

      3) One new expansion shrine in the north-west I can build but after it is finished, nothing happens.

      4) many resource chests do not contain anything.

      5) In Multiplayer my followers will not fight.

      6) In the first bronze AI-multiplayer game, I can't seem to win. I start with 10 followers (8 more than AI) but AI is always much faster and will get more followers then me. And my followers are not fighting.

      7) Flags on houses are jumping up and down (1/4 height) from time to time.

      8) sometimes ALL houses in an area will display the build time automatically.

    28. Creator Rullakebab99 on October 4, 2013

The only bug i've found so far in this build is, i can't sculpt around one particular island with a shrine. I'll have to send a more detailed bug report later.

    29. Creator Christian Schaller on October 4, 2013

What are the plans for the linux version?

    30. Creator Styggron on October 4, 2013

I guess it will be the final version before we get a non steam one then yes ?

    31. Creator ZILLA on October 4, 2013

Is it supposed to automatically generate belief? ... because mine is not and there's no more trees or rocks for me to eat to make it myself. So my game is completely dead. My followers just walk around and die now since I can't do anything else.

Also, as per sculpting land. Why does it not let you click/drag fluidly? It would make it less tedious. The way it is now it often mistakes what part of the land I want to expand when double clicking. I don't want to tap tap tap and chisel to raise land (work). I want to drag/glide across the land with ease like I'm drawing (fun, artistic, etc).

    32. Creator Christoph Bajohr on October 4, 2013

I love seeing things gettin' forward and being improved. You did a great job so far!

    33. Creator Ezequiel on October 4, 2013

Great! i will test this after the work... It will be a long day :(

    34. Creator Leandro Rocha on October 4, 2013

Thank god. I hated that insane ridiculous clicking we have to do to get the Belief balls. =P

    35. Creator Mikkel on October 4, 2013

Oh, and an actually indicator of whether or not the game is loading, on the load screen, would also be very nice. :)

    36. Creator Mikkel on October 4, 2013

Nice to see more content. However, I'm quite unable to restart my world, because the popup box asking if I wanted to reset my world popped the same time I tried to click X on another dialog, resulting in my pressing no to restarting my world.. And now there's no option for it anywhere.. A fix please? :)

    37. Creator Chupey Kabra on October 4, 2013

Fun little bug, I opened two chests on the north of the island at the waters edge and I didn't get anything from them. Restarting the game didn't give them to me either =//

    38. Creator testing567 on October 4, 2013

Is there any word about when the beta will come to Linux? I raised my pledge from $10 to $30 for 2 beta keys when you crossed the Linux stretch goal threshold. I'm feeling a little left out. :/

    39. Creator Polaris Penguin on October 4, 2013

Nice work, loading it up now (and dragging myself away from some bash scripting).
