Yogscast - Honeydew's Honey Drive

Posted by 22cans (Creator)

Hello everyone,

A bit of a different update today, 22cans and Peter Molyneux are supporting YOGSCAST with their Christmas charity drive. In about 10 minutes, Peter will be joining Simon and Lewis LIVE on  http://www.twitch.tv/yogscast where they will be playing games together and talking. If you like Peter's games then you don't want to miss the show.

Yogscast - Honeydew's Honey Drive has been set up to raise funds for OXFAM, which is a vibrant global movement of dedicated people fighting poverty. From saving lives and developing projects that put poor people in charge of their lives and livelihoods, to campaigning for change that lasts. Oxfam is a registered charity in England and Wales (no 202918) and Scotland (SCO 039042).

You can help by visiting their justgiving page on http://www.justgiving.com/yogscast to make a donation.

Take care everyone!

Very little has been discussed in the forum concerning the competitive multiplayer aspect of the game. This will be the format I'll be playing with friends, hence its utmost importance, in my opinion! In its competitive multiplayer form, I consider Godus as an RTS, hence I apply to it the same thinking patterns.

First of all, when we are refering to a "multiplayer game of Godus", what are we talking about? What are the victory conditons? How long do you want an average game to last?

Strategy is about resource allocation. What are the resources involved? Just mana and population? Or will there be other resources such as wood, food and ores? I personally think that implementing these additional resources might hinder the efficiency and coherency of the gameplay: I don't want to be farming wheat or picking up trees. As fun as it was in B&W, it doesn't make for very exciting and interesting multiplayer gameplay.

I've been trying to imagine how the game will play out, how it will balance itself out. However, I can't get
very far without this fundamenal gameplay basis. What do you guys expect Godus to be as an RTS?

I hope yogscast put the peter interview up on their main youtube channel as twitch tv was ballsing up as usual, twitch is not to be trusted for livestreams its always goes wrong.

Nice nice, its little bit weird to make a podcast advertisment, where you should pledge.. but yeah they gave you more popularity that was important too .. we got in 2-3h 3-4k thats awesome..

Anyway Guys, Another Update Another £ for you! Sometimes I think, maybe I should upgrade it to another Acorn!..

Loved to see Peter on the live stream, loved to re-live some of my favorite games. Glad to hear he liked my idea of including something like an alter in Godus or some sort of place of power, it was a feature I really love in games like Black and White.

If there's a possibility of bringing back the Black and White alter, I'd love to see it taken a bit further...back to the wonderful temple that morphed to reflect your alignment!  If that causes IP problems then maybe some kind of wonder: pyramid, colossus, henge instead?

Enjoyed the cast and now NEED to find Dungeon Keeper + DOSbox :)

@Sam It was interesting allright, but most of these types of moments you expect them to be longer than they actually are. But it was interesting in it's own way. :)

Thx for the info on the video.

For those that watched it, was it interesting ?

    8. Axel Poqué on

You can always watch livestreams after they've been finished on twitch, just click on "videos" on the streams page.

@Brad Hubert Vote IF Twitch lag you should had changed resolution to a lower or higher, it usally helps,(Or your internet has something against streams. It is not something uncommon.

@Sam Once it is over, just like now(Well for a bit.) you can start seeing them on Twitch.tv if you go to video section rather than stream-section. ^^ So you can see any streamed video they have made previously.

Glad to see someone giving that unpopular opinion TheChosenOne! I agree.

      Cool stream, enjoyed it.
