How to PlayShuffle the deck and place it between both players. Each player draws four cards. At the count of three (or Ro, Sham, Bo) both players lay down a card of their choice. The winner takes both cards and sets them aside. Then each player draws a new card from the deck, and the whole thing starts over again.
- Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, and paper beats rock
- Hero cards beat any non-Hero cards, but lose to their corresponding hero cards. ie: Rock Hero loses to Paper Hero, etc.
- The Bomb beats everything (like the ace does when playing war)
If there is a tie, then you go to WAR! With the existing cards in hand, at the count of three, both players lay down another card of their choice. The winner takes all four cards and sets them aside. If it's a tie again, then another WAR! occurs. After the wars finish, each player draws until they have four cards in their hand again.
Keep going until all the cards in the center are used. The player who won the most cards is the winner.
Try to save your Heroes and Bombs to win wars. And remember, you don't need the best cards to win. You just need to be the best at reading your opponent.
Rules for 3 Players - This is really fun!
Players each draw four cards and on the count of three, play a card of their choice. If there is a single winner (i.e. one paper and two rocks), then that player takes all three cards. If there is a three way tie (i.e. all rocks or one of each), then all players go to WAR! and play another card. If there is a two way tie (i.e. two rocks and one scissors), then the two winners go to WAR! and only those two players play another card. Once the WAR! is complete, all players draw until they have four cards in their hand again.
Keep playing until all the cards in the center are used up (or until there are only one or two left). The player who won the most cards is the winner.
What You Get for Your Pledge
- 1 complete game
- 50 cards
- Shipping included
The project will be funded with your help if we raise enough for the minimum order quantity and shipping costs ($800). One copy costs about $8 to make in the U.S., ship and cover the Kickstarter fees.
Stretch Goal #1 (Goal Met!)
We hit $1,400 so we're able to upgrade the cards to blue core. This improves the card quality and durability.
Stretch Goal #2
If we're able to reach $2,200 we'll be able to update the card stock to black core which is an even higher quality and even more durable.
Risks and challenges
We've already completed one successful game on Kickstarter. This time we are using a different printer in an effort to make the game more affordable for more people. We are very pleased with the quality of the samples they've sent us so far.
We've put a lot of time and thought into the sourcing of Rock, Paper, Scissors, WAR! to maintain a high quality game while making it very affordable. We're even working with the printer to keep the weight of each deck within a certain threshold to keep shipping costs to a minimum.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
