Discovery Of Historical Significance

Dear friends,

Today is a momentous day! While many may have discounted the story of Death Inc. as apocryphal or even fictional, it is with great pride we can reveal what we believe to be the first piece of the puzzle pointing towards the truth. Our archival historians have unearthed compelling evidence in the form of a letter, written by one "Grim T. Livingstone" and apparently addressed to his grandmother.

The date, which has been verified as genuine, is 12th March 1663. What next in our voyage of historical discovery?

@ Ambient that's great, I love the variety and the idea of having to kill all your dead to make them dead dead, at the end. thanks.. perhaps you could add those details to your Friday Q&A.

      Hey Andrew,

So souls are earned a number of ways:

There will be set amounts for completing a mission (e.g. Kill the nobleman and be rewarded 500 souls for your effort).

There will also be secondary bonus targets that will reward you with additional souls.

Any infected unit that dies will release his soul (to be collected by swiping the cursor over them), so during the course of the level, you'll need to keep an eye out for fallen units to make sure you don't miss any.

If a human dies through NOT being infected (e.g. drowning or killed accidentally by a comrade), then you'll also get their soul (but you wont gain an additional infected unit). These will need collecting manually (swipe cursor over them to collect).

At the end of the level, the hope is that all your infected units 'die' releasing their souls for collection. I'm a big fan of old games like Smash TV and its bonus levels where the player would collect hundreds of prizes within a time limit. So at the end of each level, there should be a frantic scramble to collect the souls of your former troops! I picture this being quite a fun and rewarding event for completing a level.

The final way of earning souls is in the business side of the game, you can hire employees to go off and complete other secondary missions that will reward you with a set number of souls (as long as they have the skills to do so!). If your employee 'fails' a mission, then you would still get a percentage of the souls available, but not the full amount.

      Hope that helps!

congrats on being a staff pick, hopefully it wil send you some traffic.
      Q about souls.
You said they are currency, Do you earn a set amount per mission or can you earn more?
How do you earn them? Is it total people killed or is it based on their significance or is it people under your control at the end.?

What is really fascinating is the fact that Grim had a typewriter in 1663. It was previously believed, that it wasn't invented until almost 200 years later.
