About this project
One day, Theresa was working with a child and she began to draw an ice cream cone. She drew the connection between feelings and how they can be explained using fun examples. The child became instantly engaged and began using the process at home. The parents saw great changes in the child's behavior at home and that's when Theresa realized she was onto something great!
Theresa Gaser and Paul Weaver are a team of mental health professionals who have been working with children in a private practice setting. Theresa was a classroom teacher prior to that.
She began collaborating with Paul and the great product we have here was born. Our goal was to create something vibrant, well designed and exciting that parents and children enjoy together!
Nearly one year later while caring for the children, working, going to school and lots of brain storming, cups of coffee, airplane flights, sketching, more coffee, emails, business plans, photo shoots, video shoots, even more coffee, Facetime calls and many many late nights, we're now ready to reveal our first book... 'Ice Cream Cone Feelings'.
As if producing one book wasn't challenging enough, we decided to do two. Because why not?
Designed with Purpose
After reading this book, children get excited and encouraged to share their feelings. This book is a fun way to talk to children and teach them that they are bigger than their feelings. When doing this, we naturally build a deeper connection amongst family members which is important because as at times as they get older, they pull away from their parents/caregivers. The more tools we teach them, the better their communication skills are as we begin dealing with adolescence and the easier it is to keep deeper connections with them.
Feelings are like big scoops of ice cream that get stacked on an ice cream cone. When we do not process these feelings our emotions melt together and can make a big mess! The Ice Cream Cone Feelings book is a fun and interactive story that teaches children and adults a unique process designed to minimize the emotional messes of daily life. Instead of making messes, the Ice Cream Cone Feelings book teaches readers how to recognize their feelings so that they can interact with their emotions in healthy new ways.
The Ice Cream Cone Feelings book is both a practical tool and an engaging story that helps young readers talk about their feelings and life experiences with those they trust most. Likewise, parents who read Ice Cream Cone Feelings to their children will be teaching their children life skills that nurture family bonds.
Having worked so hard on perfecting the story, all the illustrations and design of the book, we do not want to skimp on the production. Therefore, we've decided to go with Hardcover instead of soft back. We've included a dust jacket instead of going without. We've got 36 pages of beautifully rendered artwork too!
Our fantastic rewards range from copies of the book in multiple formats like Hardcover and Digital Download. Even if you don't have kids there are a few rewards you will like too. Take a look! We can create custom rewards on request, so if you have a special configuration that you'd like to back, send us an email and we will make it happen.
This project needs your support to get into the hands of as many children as possible! If you don't have kids, consider gifting a set to your local elementary school classroom. Or send this page link to a friend or family member.

Risks and challenges
The Ice Cream Cone Feelings book has been in development for a few years. We believe this period of time shows our dedication and commitment to offer the highest quality product we can. Our biggest challenge after our project is funded is securing national distribution in order to offer the Ice Cream Cone Feelings book in national retail stores. If we are unable to secure nationwide distribution our plan is to launch a more aggressive online marketing strategy by expanding our online presence and concentrating our efforts on finding corporate sponsorship. We need this project to fund in order to publish on a larger scale and to have the necessary capital to meet the financial demands of nationwide distribution. Thank you for your time and consideration.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
