Wingz is the perfect balance of DESIGN & ENGINEERING. It will revolutionize the way you carry gear on your bicycle. It is stylish, extremely functional, and like nothing you've ever seen before.
By supporting this project, you'll not only help raise funds for Wingz, but you will also PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE BICYCLING in our local communities!
Who would benefit most from a Wingz seatpost rack?
Daily commuters in large metropolitan and suburban areas who rely primarily on bicycles to get around.
Why purchase Wingz? Well…
- It has the same exact capabilities as other seatpost racks in the market today, if not better.
- It looks CLEANER and much more AESTHETIC than your average seatpost rack due to its minimalist design.
- You don’t have to worry about extra-wide cargo falling off.
- It’ll make your commute more ENJOYABLE AND HASSLE-FREE.
How does it work?
Wingz has taken a radical design approach in form and function. It is alien in comparison to every seatpost rack in the market today.
The key to its revolutionary design is a pair of aluminum bars that are hinged on one end and free to swivel about a clamp. These bars can be positioned accordingly to accommodate cargo, large or small. Once the angle has been set, a pair of lock screws are tightened to secure the bars in place and prevent them from swinging freely.
The bars are connected to a clamp that attaches to your seatpost via two screws. If there is too much slack between the seatpost and the clamp, a rubber insert is provided to compensate for the extra space.
Has it been tested?
Absolutely. I asked several volunteers who are avid bicyclists to test out Wingz and report what they thought, whether they were simply going for a ride downtown or aggressively traversing an alpine trail. The feedback? All positive! They loved its simplistic design and effectiveness of its carrying capacity; their gear never fell off, even under extreme ride conditions like zipping down a sloped path in the mountains.
The prototype model has been tested in virtually every environment imaginable, such as heavy rain, snowfall, and extremely hot weather. The verdict? It's still intact and fully capable of supporting your cargo needs.
A successful campaign will help fund additional testing by an accredited third party team.

Check out these awesome rewards:
Kickstarter funds will go towards the manufacturing and tooling/hardware costs of producing Wingz seatpost racks. A significant portion of the funds will also go towards the design, engineering, prototyping and fabrication of accessories and additional racks with increased capabilities (i.e. water bottle attachment, quick-release latch, heavier cargo support, etc).
Special thanks to ThinkBlot Media for making an awesome video.
Special thanks to roger from GRABCAD for a great bike & seat model.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THESE GREAT IDEAS FROM FELLOW KICKSTARTERS:
Since you can position the clamp anywhere on the seatpost, you can simply install the tail light directly underneath the clamp (setup shown in video).
Absolutely. You’re free to use as many as you want. Go crazy!
Not at all. It’s not evident in the pictures or video, but simply running your fingers over the tips will reveal how smooth they actually are. And since the material is considerably thick (yet lightweight), it’s not sharp enough to go through skin. So in case you were wondering, no you can’t use it to decapitate a zombie. Sorry guys!
It is highly advised that you do not position the cargo by the tip. Try to keep the weight closer to the seatpost. Loading close to the tip (if the cargo weighs in excess of 25 lbs) may cause permanent damage to the rack.
