About

Ukhron Wars is an alternate vision of History by the middle ages of WWII. We take the events as they were until 1942 and from then on, we have created a distopic reality about what it could have been if some disidents against the Nazi Regime had managed to make thru to seize power and pull back the Soviet offensive.

This is not the tipical history you can find in many games. But a fiction taken from real events were Albert Speer, Wilhelm Canaris, other members of the Abwher, and other dissidents in the Third Reich were involved in a secret plan to seize power in Germany and to reach a peace agreement with western allies.

Under this scenery we want to release into market a wide range of sci fi kits developed secretly during this stage of war.

For this campaign, we introduce the Fiseler 105 C. A multitask jet, powered by rear propellers which was firstly used in the Eastern front.

This model has different variants, so you will find another version with turbojet engines as well as another one created specifically for night missions including a infrared and telescopic visor.

This plane was designed secretly by Joseph Kuthan in a hidden factory near the Swedish and Finnish border, and came in time to crush the Soviets advance in 1943.

The target of this campaign is raising funds enough to order a high resolution 3D printed copy of all the parts composing our kit, and later to this, the master molds in silicone required to make resin copies from.

Our Goal. Getting funds to release into market the LT-105
Our Goal. Getting funds to release into market the LT-105

This kit represents a Fieseler Luftkrieger or LuftTorpedo, has been created with SolidWorks and Catia and the basic version contains up to this moment 62 parts in resin. (The number of piece in the kit could vary lightly depending on production requeriments.)

OK. BUT WHY RESIN INSTEAD PLASTIC?

This is for sure a good question. We tried firstly to create the kit in plastic, when the idea of creating this kit was born 3 years ago.

However all along this time we have met lots of issues with our partner as well as unmoulding problems which required to change the look of the kit or just spending several ten of thousands euros in complex steel molds. Finally it was decied that changing the design of the kit was not a choice, as the plane would lose its essence and lots of fans would not understand it.

So, as time went by, we realised that our best choice then if we could not go to plastic, was going to resin. Perhaps the resulting kit was not as cheap to produce as we wished to, but other way, all our effort would go to waste.

So definitely, making the kit in resin was the best solution for our first kit.

In order to get the best master piece we could achieve to create the silicone molds, we were looking for high tech 3D printers, with resolution enough to create all the pannels and details in the different parts of the plane.

This is how we came into with 3DA, a local company which works an Envisiontec. This is a hi-res printer used to create fine jewellry and 28 mm miniature masters.

The printers created by this brand are well known by wargames brands, as most of their figures are printed, by them. Its superb quality and the smoothed surfaces it offers makes from this the best solution to get a finely detailled kit.

In fact, 3DA is already a supplier of masters for miniature brands which also fund projects in Kickstarter. We have already ordered a sample of one of the parts of the plane. Hever you have the result.

Once we get all the printed the parts of the kit it is time for silicone molds.

Silicone molds are literally able to clone masters to achieve identical copies from it, however they have a limited life due to the chemical properties of the material itself.

In order to get always the best quality, we will order several molds of every part. This will help us with mass production, by decreasing the casting time, and also will assure that all the parts are perfect copies of the printed master.

This is an craft process. It is slower than shooting plastic in a mold, but results in the end are superb, and due to the elastic properties of the silicone, these mold can hold pieces easily which would required complex steel molds if shot in plastic.

REWARD 1. Inner componentes for VTOL display.

The Luftkriger was a plane able to take off and land vertically. It had an inner turbo fan performing power enough to lift her up easily.

Such feature, was proved to be very effective to hide the first hundred of of LT units from allies observers as they were used to look for airfields and tracks required for ordinary planes to take off and land.

Germans, kept them unseen for a long time by grouping them in forest and tall vegetation, where they could take off vertically easily in cleared areas nearby.

In the middle of the body, four hatches (located in the upper and lower side of the plane), were opened up and down during the maneuver to let the air flow out until the plane was elevating.

Once in the air the rear propeller took the control for the plane to fly.

REWARD 3. COCKPIT WITH TELESCOPIC AND INFRARED VISOR In order to took advantage in dog fights against Soviets particulary in dog fights and night missions, the Engineers developed a second kind of cockpit which feature two frontal devices. First of them was a long range infrarred system to detect enemy planes far in the distance with a better accuracy than showed in a radar. The second one was a telescopic device to allow the pilot a better vision in ordinary missions. This reward includes all the necesary pieces to assembly this version of the LuftKrieger.

REWARD 4. Turbojet Engines Later versions of the Luftkrieger included jet engines in the wings. The rear propeller was substituted by a brake system included in a coned which housed a parachute. Frontal nose also underwent several modifications. The turbofan, was retired and a rocket systems was place installed instead.

  •  The extra elements composing this versión of the plane include: 01. Right wing, 02. Left wing, 03. Fuel depot, 04. Topper, 05. Lower exhaust, 06. Rocket system, 07. Plexiglass nose, 08. Rear cone, 09. Oxidant depot, 10. Wing Frontal end, 11. Wing Rear end

This version of plane was faster than any previous versions and was used to bring down Allies bombers during their raids against German Factories in Western Europe. The success achieved against them took the Air Command in England to suspend the raids for several weeks as a high number of missions ended with the loss of all the bombers sent.

REWARD 5. Pilot figure

No plane is complete without a pilot. In order to offer you a complete kit, if we achieve this stretch goal, we will include for some backers a figure sculpted in Zbrush by GT Creations, and printed especifically to make copies only for them.

So you want more extra stuff? Well, to be honest we must say we have considered new stretch goals if we raise funds to cover the reward  number fifth. However, we would like to hear you before choosing one of them.

Actually, the list of extra stuff we are considering to include as new stretch goals are:

  • A pair of figures depicting ground crew
  • A new set of wings in arrow for a new version of the plane
  • A metal casted copy of an original Luftwaffe Badge with an personal document.
  • A platform where to attach your LT to show it like flying.
  • A 1/24 3D sculpted bust of yours dressed like a German Pilot with your name in a plaque. Only for top backers.

However, as we say we would like to know your opinions and suggestions before making a decision about it.

Risks and challenges

RISK 1 | SHIPPING DELAYS
Well, this is a basic topic. Making a kit requires lots of elements created by different suppliers. Printing shop for boxes, decal manufacturer, 3D supporting and later printing, sanding the masters, to create silicone molds, casting the resin to obtain all the pieces composing the plane, quality control, boxing and shipping. We have estimated all this process could take about 3-4 months, from the moment when we received the funds until we have all the items boxed. However, if any delays happens under any circumstance, this period could take any longer. We hope not. Anyway, we will always keep you reported about what it happens during the manufacturing process until you get your kit safe at home.

RISK 2 | SHIPPING COSTS
We have contacted the national post service, and some other courier agencies, looking for the best ratio quality-price when sending the parcels. However, the final price given will depend on the total weight of the resulting product, including the extra parts if the stretch goals are funded. So, we need to have the master and the first copies done to know exactly the weight of the product. Another factor to take into account which keeps the postal service from telling us a final price is the destination of the parcel. Therefore at this point we can't give an exact shipping cost. However we are in contact with the Commercial Department of DHL, Correos, SEUR, Fedex and TNT for them to give us a list of prices. Once we have them all we will post them in this page. Anyway, for you to have an estimation we can say that a basic international shipping by Correos is around 21 € for parcels up to 1kg and 26€ for parcels up to 2kg. This price is possible to be reduced as we will probably agree a discount per volume of service. We are doing our best for this purpose.

RISK 3 | FUNDS NOT ENOUGH
We have undergone a deep study of several other projects in Kickstarter and also have searched on the internet for info about planning a campaign with the highest accuracy. With all this info we have created a spreadsheet to calculate the minimum amount required to make the project successful. This calculation also includes a deviation to assure we could cover any unexpected event or factor. However, if any hipothetic mistake, would mean not having funds enough for the project, we would try to get the money by other means, or just would refund you your pledge. Note it is possible that banks fees and other taxes could not be refunded. Keep this in mind when making your pledge.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT THE KIT
We know that 59.95 euros for a kit could seem a pledge a little bit high. However, believe us when we say it is a really good one. Just compare it with the price of some other kits in resin you could find in the market. It is possible that you find smaller kits, with less parts, priced up to 100 USD.

Take into consideration, that a single figure in 1/35 scale could cost around 12 euros.

The kit we are offering to you in this campaign is a large kit. It measures around 24 ctms long and 13 ctms from wing to wing and includes lots of detailed parts. Such volume requires a lot of resin, and that means a also a large investment in material.

So definitely, the amount required for the basic pledge is far enough cheaper than it should.

If you like this kit, you'll surely should be a backer, as this is a limited edition which will no longer be released.
