Help support the multimedia theater experience Victor K. performing at St. Cecilia's Convent June 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
For the past six months, Fiends de Siecle! has been developing a theatrical production that brings the audience through the house of the Kraps, a bourgeoisie family struggling with their son's existential crisis. Victor K. grew out of a collaborative drama workshop organized by Adrea Teasdale under the umbrella of The Bruce High Quality Foundation University. (www.bhqfu.com)
We will perform a site-specific play June 1st-3rd, 2011 at St. Cecilia's Convent in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and are in need of some finishing funds to compensate our impressive and hard-working technical team. The first half of the production is an absurdist, highly stylized, drawing room dark comedy (set and costume design by the incomparable, Sylvia Grieser (www.sylviagrieser.com), and the second half is an installation piece inspired by the characters of the first half that will occur in a staircase, hallway, and 3 rooms in the bowels of St. Cecilia's abandoned school. With Austin Smith of Punchdrunk's Sleep No More designing lights, filmmaker Alec Sutherland (alecsutherland.com) designing video, photographer Michael Marcelle (michaelmarcelle.com) doing photography, and musician and MOMA AV specialist, Bjorn Quenemoen consulting on sound installation. (bjornquenemoen.com), the space will be transformed into a extension of the play world that can be explored by the audience.
This is a highly technical endeavor and in order to maintain our free admission for all in attendance policy, we would be very grateful for any donation you are able to give at this time. Every little bit you can contribute will get us closer to our goal of producing a show with exceptional production value at no cost for admission. For any size donation you will be included on our program as one of the donors gracious enough to help bring the project to fruition.
