What Are StickQuik™ Bands?
StickQuik™ Bands are a Patent-Pending, next generation accessory that offer the user handy access, organization and storage for tools, utensils or implements of any kind.
StickQuik™ Bands are a band of elastic silicone that can be stretched to snugly fit any ferrous or non-ferrous tool or tool handle. StickQuik™ Bands come in two sizes, 0.50” (1/2") and 0.375” (3/8"), to accommodate most sizes of tools, utensils and implements. StickQuik™ Bands are made of high consistency grade silicone that is embedded with neodymium magnets.
Silicone was chosen for its durability and elasticity, unlike crude rubber used in elastic bands. Plus, silicone is a non-allergic and non-toxic material that is safe to use around food. Neodymium magnets were chosen, as these rare earth magnets are the strongest permanent magnets available.
StickQuik™ Bands can be used by professional and weekend mechanics, gardeners, RV enthusiasts, handy men/women, teachers, hobbyists, crafters, artists and anyone who cooks or uses any implement of any kind.
If you don’t have anything metal to have the bands stick to, some of the rewards will have the option to get the bands with 1” metal discs or 12” metal strips that have adhesive tape on the back, so you can stick them anywhere.
For those with peg boards for their tools, we will offer the metal strips with pegs that fit peg boards.
How StickQuik™ Bands Began:
We created StickQuik™ Bands because we wanted to use one for ourselves. We searched high and low for something like it and found nothing close to them in the market.
So, we thought that if we wanted something like this, then others would too. There are some magnetic tool organizers on the market that come in the form of magnetic strips, trays, bowls and bars for toolboxes or walls. These products only serve the function of storage and don’t address having a tool, utensil or implement handy as you work.
StickQuik™ Bands lets the user do both since it attaches to and stays with the tool. The two of us began work about 2 years ago. We thought up various ideas using different materials and magnets.
We mocked up ideas into visual and working models to see what would work best. We researched many different magnets for size, strength and shapes.
Silicone was researched for its stretching properties and injection mold temperatures. After all this research we paired the right magnets with the right silicone.
When we felt we were ready for prototyping, we researched large silicone injection molding companies, domestic and abroad.
All of the companies responded that engineering a mold would be very difficult or impossible to pull off and bowed out. Undaunted, because we felt we had such a great product, we began looking locally for companies.
After a short search we found a company that has 30+ years experience molding rubber, plastics and silicone. At our first meeting, after showing models and drawings to them, they understood what we wanted and assured us that they could manufacture our product. They worked closely with us as we further refined the design.
After the refinements we went to a 3-D model and finalized it. We had a 2 cavity mold tooled for the prototypes.
From those two cavities, we made the fully functional StickQuik™ Bands that you see in this campaign.
We are thrilled with Kickstarter! We love to see others who have great ideas that they want to bring to the public. We love the energy people put into their projects. We both feel this is the best model to launch a campaign for our simple yet useful product. The conventional retail model makes it hard for the “small guys” to get their great ideas into the market. Plus, we don’t have enough capital to launch StickQuik™ Bands on our own. This is where we need your help. The two of us have self-funded this project and have taken it as far as we can. The $27,000 goal is for funding final cavity tooling costs, raw materials and initial production costs, allowing us to meet our minimum order quantities.

Risks and challenges
We have spent the last 24 months designing, refining and testing our StickQuik™ Bands. We are confident with its form and function. Our prototype phase has insured us that there will be no issues in manufacturing during the final production. Our manufacturing partner has 30+ years experience manufacturing products for both medical and government projects. They have a great attention to detail and are focused on customer satisfaction.
We will be accountable to all our backers who helped make StickQuik™ Bands a reality. When the project funds, we will be transparent, each step of the way, by providing our backers with regular updates.
The only risks we can see would be natural disasters that could cause materials shortages or shipping delays.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
