About

The world of railroads in a proverbial small country.

The world of 18xx games in a short game in between.

18Lilliput is for 2-4 players, it takes between 1 - 2 hours.

18Lilliput is a card game which includes all of the essential elements of a classic 18xx game. With the square track tiles the players build a track network – starting from Lilliput’s capital, Maputo. There are eight companies found in the game and each player may own a maximum of two presidencies.

A new element is introduced in 18Lilliput: the action cards. Track building, station establishing, train purchases and share buying are all executed by claiming one of these action cards, if they are still available. For experienced 18xx players, 18Lilliput is a short game which can be enjoyed in between other train games or as a good way to round off a nice evening of Rail Gaming. For players without any 18xx experience, 18Lilliput is an ideal way to learn many of the mechanisms from the world of railroad games.

The game is played in 8 rounds, and each round consists of two phases: Action Selection and Railroad Operation. Before the game begins, each player selects one of four starting companies and gets its charter, a 50% share, and he also selects a character card.

The Action Selection Phase starts with a designated start player and in clockwise order, everybody selects an Action Card and executes the upper or the lower half of it. These actions are the key element in the game, and selecting the right action at the right time, is the road to victory as used action cards can’t be selected again until the next round. Actions let you build track, buy engines, place station markers, get money (for yourself or one of your companies), and buy new shares or open a new company. After every player has selected one action, the turn order is reversed and the last player selects second action and this continues back to the first player. So two actions per player per turn.

After every player had his two actions, the companies run their trains in order of their stock price; best company first. This is done like in every other 18xx and the revenue can be kept or paid out to the shareholders. There is no bank pool; all shares in the bank are ignored and only the players get money for their shares.

Spielablauf

- Koupit vlak. Vlaky potřebujete, abyste spojovali jednotlivá města a vydělávali peníze

- Prodej a nákup akcií.

- Získat peníze do soukromé pokladny či pokladny některé společnosti.

Leonhard "Lonny" Orgler

Leonhard „Lonny“ Orgler created several train games, starting back in 1994 with „1837“. Followed by other „18xx“ games, he had his great success with „Russian Railroads“, published by „Hans-im-Glueck“ and winner of the German Game Prize in 2014. Lonny lives near Vienna, Austria (the no kangaroos-country) and works as a teacher with handicapped children. His last game – 18CZ – was his first kickstarter success. With this game he started the efficient partnership with

David Hanacek

David Hanacek is an analyst in the IT industry who has managed what many only dream of: to turn their hobby into a side-business. An avid board gamer, David created his own one-man publishing house Fox in the Box for largely one reason: to bring excellent and very niche games to life. He lives in Decin in the northern parts of the Czech Republic. Since starting, he has published a few Sierra Madre Games for czech market and 18CZ worldwide.

The shipping will be charged once the Kickstarter campaign is over and will be based on the actual cost. We will obtain all the information via our pledge manager after the end of the campaign.

You will also have the opportunity to add to the shipment Lonny´s previous game „18CZ“ as an add-on via pledge manager.

The shipping charges for one copy of 18Lilliput are quite high, but get more favourable when there are more copies in one package.

Please note that the prices below are just examples and may vary by unlocked stretch goals and total number of shipments.

Table of approximate shipping costs:

Risks and challenges

- Lonny & Fox in the Box successfully published together 18CZ in time and of a very good quality. This is our second Kickstarter campaign.
We do not expect delays in production, but unforeseen issues may arise during manufacturing and shipping.

- By pledging on this project you agree that our responsibility to you is to ship your order as entered into the pledge management system. You are responsible for import or other duties that may be payable to relevant tax authorities. You also accept that you are fully liable for incorrect shipping details and will risk your pledge being undeliverable or lost in transit. We are unable to ship to PO Boxes.

- When you pledge on Kickstarter you put your trust in a project long before it is completed and you contribute, with this trust, to making 18Lilliput a reality. We value that kind of trust and we value the model of Kickstarter too.

- The game has been developed in stages and over a period of several years, iterated through many play-testing sessions. The general impression from almost every play testers has been highly positive, both on the game mechanics and the quality in which the game will be produced. The gameplay and the balance of the game is well tested.

- Our advantage is personal oversight of manufacture in Europe. We feel very confident that the manufacturer we’ve chosen will deliver an excellent product.
