My name is Lauren and my husband is Donothan,
Our movement, Bibs For Kids, was created to raise awareness and to assist families and organizations that support causes that affect many kids in America.
I started Bibs For Kids with the vision of creating relationships and helping to support moms who experience premature birth. I recently gave birth to my son, Chase, who was six weeks premature. We spent 12 days in the NICU and after my experience, a passion sparked inside of me to reach out to other moms to provide encouragement and comfort. After connecting with other mothers, I realized that prematurity was only one of the hurdles that many children take on. This inspired me to start reaching to moms in other arenas who face these adversities. The current causes that I focus on are Prematurity, Childhood Cancer, Pediatric Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Childhood Hunger, and Pediatric HIV. Each of my bibs represent one of these causes.
Watching our children fight is hard on anyone and I want to position myself to help as many families that I can so that every kid has a fighting chance. My mission is to unite families on similar journeys through awareness and support and to reduce the impact of prematurity, illness, and impoverishment on children. Together, we have the power to make sure every child is given a chance for a healthy life!
Our vision is to help 100,000,000 children by 2036. We will fight everyday to achieve this and will never stop to help children.
Risks and challenges
We have started partnering with many hospitals and organizations dedicated to helping children going through a hard time. We understand the fight these children are under going could be the hardest fight of their lives. The main challenge that we have run into is not being able to get in contact with enough families who have children going through one of the causes we support. The main reason for this is our short time in business and increasing brand awareness to get to these families. This challenge can be easily overcome through our continuous daily efforts of partnering with hospitals and organizations. We have been very effective at getting our message across and having the support of organizations and hospitals. We will keep fighting and reach our goal of helping 100,000,000 million children by 2036.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
