About this project
We are looking to record a 7" vinyl single with the last of our jazzier songs "Tiger" and "Snake In The Tree." We'd like to bring in our good friend, trumpet master Doyle Tippler to set the songs on fire. We'd like you to play this record when you're feeling a little bloodthirsty, or simply when you need something to supplement the rain and a glass of wine.
We are also looking to record four of the new soul songs--"A Heart Knows," "Daddy's Little Angel," "Foolin,'" and "The Hand Clapping Song"--on an EP we've lovingly dubbed Don't Let The Music Fool You. We've written these songs with our bass player Travis and our guitar player Will, and would like to record them before they move onto some other projects. We'd like to hook up with a horn or two and really give some of these songs some room to get you on the good foot.
We'll also be recording one or two more songs that will be available in digital download only.
We'll be printing some tee-shirts, too--our first in five years of making music!
Risks and challenges
Frankly, if we don't receive the funding it takes to make these projects happen, the songs will have to wait for a much longer period of time until they're recorded without the key players who make them shine in a less-than-ideal situation. Or, they may never be recorded at all. I realize that doesn't sound so bad, and we have all the patience in the world, but you'd be surprised how much the wrong group of people recording the right songs is still wrong.
The chemistry we all have at this very moment is the thing that will set these songs apart. Travis, Jason, Will, Jess, Molly, KP, and Becks are exactly who were meant to record these songs together, and we'd like to be given the chance.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
