Hi. My name is Clive. I am working with Cyprien on a cool project!
Clive-
I am a rocket engineer and artist based out of Mojave.

Cyprien-

Cyprien Noel is a software developer with a mechanical engineering background. He came to the SF Bay Area a couple years ago to launch a software startup, ObjectFabric (objectfabric.com). He works at the HackerDojo in Mountain View, and is involved in the Ephemerisle community.

We are working to create a bad ass art installation for the burning man of the seas, Ephemerisle 2k12.  Imagine a temporary city lashed together each year on the sacremento river delta. Last year, we had a lot of cool community projects, like a floating platform and a huge waterslide! this year, I want to bring a really cool piece of floating art.

Jellypus is going to be a very large, very bright floating light show. Well, not quite floating. it will lurk just under the waves, sending forth spirals of amazing color. It will be parked just beside our city, and will light up our nights, giving the event a very cool feel. We could even float it in the middle of one of the courtyards of our city.

It will be composed of LED strip lights, power conditioners and controllers, sequencers and the like. It will be controlled by a tablet app or laptop (or even smartphone!) We will design the interface so it can be hooked into whatever boat is blasting music to sync the show to the beats.

The size and scope of this project is only limited by how much you give! the more cash on hand, the more stuff I can pack into the squid! more lights, more strobes, more arms, more power!

I think it will look amazing, imagine 1200 watts of blinking flashing colored light issuing from the deep, people safely swimming among the tentacles. It will not have a sting! the LED strips will be enclosed in thick-wall clear tubing. We might even figure out a way to make it dance :D

If you are not going to the isle this year yet you want to support, support this! but not before you support more needed stuff like the community platform.

Thanks,

-Clive
