About this project
Nearly 100 years ago, the world governments suffered the worst economic collapse known to man. This situation was further compounded by a series of global ecological disasters. In a desperate move, governments turned to corporations for financial help, thus allowing the largest corporations to gain footholds as governing bodies. With the advent and harnessing of hyperspace technology, mankind left for the stars with reckless abandon, and the New Golden Age was upon us.
In 2112, the governing corporations are policed by the Intergalactic Peace Corps (IPC). These are the galactic adventures of Space Marshal, Captain John Nadir.
Captain John Nadir is recalled to Earth for a secret mission briefing. Little does he know that his very life depends on the outcome.
Undertaking a secret mission, John Nadir prepares for his departure from Earth to MOON CITY. Nadir gets more than he bargains for when a simple stop for a layover drink with a spunky Tech Specialist turns into an all-out brawl.
Rogue Star Fighters attack MOON CITY, and Captain John Nadir uses his skills in an attempt to remedy a dire situation.
ALIENS! SPACESHIPS! MOON CITY! OH MY!
Hello, everyone! We'd like to thank our fan-base for the unwavering support shown for the first three issues of NADIR'S ZENITH. Your continued interest and enthusiasm for our comic book is why we've started this Kickstarter project. Everyone loves our story and the only complaint has been, "When will the next issue be out? Hurry it up!"
We're an independent comic book producer. That means we produce only as fast as funds are available. Lean months mean longer gaps between issues. We want to remedy the time-lag and with your help, we'll do just that. We have streamlined the production/printing process during the first three issues and have the procedures down to a science. We are constantly sold out at our local comic book shops. We've even been picked up by Comixology.
Our initial goal is to produce NZ #4 & #5 with this project.
Imagine if you will that 70 years from now, humankind established a colony on the Moon mining for Helium-3. Welcome to MOON CITY. Now imagine that Las Vegas, Disney World, Blade Runner, and Thunderdome had a baby...on the Moon. Thus, THE INFERNO is born! Unique galactic enigma and informational nexus point of MOON CITY. Where black markets and deathly entertainment are intertwined with tourist attractions and fantastical make-believe. Decadent playground for the elite rich and mesmerizing wonderland for the commoner. Where convicts are holovid stars earning reduced sentences or quick deaths in the attempt. Where anything can be had for the right price, a roll of the dice, or a spin on the wheel...
John Nadir's mission to NEW CALEDONIA is delayed by a rogue attack on MOON CITY. The investigation of the attack puts Nadir on the trail for information leading to THE INFERNO. And the price for such information has its costs...including the lives of his friends in THE ARENA!
Coerced by the temptations of THE INFERNO, Nadir, Davies, Nguyen, and Parker compete in THE ARENA during a televised fight to the death against some of the worst dredges of society.
Here's the breakdown of where the money's spent:
So that's our Kickstarter project in a nutshell. Pretty cool, huh? Want to make it even better? Keep reading...
We're hoping that you like our story so much that we can make our stretch goals in addition to the initial project goal. What are those you say? Good question!
Additional Reward Tiers will be added if the Stretch Goals are exceeded.
We hope you enjoy the items provided in the Reward Tiers. We'd love to generate more exclusive, Kickstarter-Only content for our backers. The more revenue produced by this project, the better the benefits will be to our backers. We appreciate your hard-earned cash and want your experience to be immaculate.
Please keep in mind that these images are mock-up and the final productions will be different. If anything, they will be even more super-awesome!

Despite his penchant for writing songs about lost love, Michael Bendure is actually a pretty happy guy. Four years ago, he co-founded the SongWriters Association of Norman (SWAN), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping local songwriters improve as writers and performers. His work with SWAN, as well as other arts organizations in the community, has earned him several honors along the way. But his greatest honor has been performing original music throughout Oklahoma and the region over the past 15 years. Whether performing solo or with local bands such as Post Arcadia and Radio Apathy, Michael has played local dives, Norman Music Festivals, arts fundraisers, and even opened for the Texas Playboys. His soulful songwriting and solo performances have been compared to Jack Johnson, John Denver, and Joni Mitchell. Michael is an avid sci-fi fan who spends much of his time trying to convert his wife and daughter into Whovians, Trekkies, and Jedi lookalikes. So far, he is pretty happy with the results. Michael will be composing and recording original music for Nadir's Zenith soundtrack when the Stretch Goals are reached. Check out Michael's links for more info: SWAN: normansongwriters.org and www.facebook.com/radioapathy
Is a talented musician whose name is synonymous with the band, Dr. Pants.
Dr. Pants is the brainchild of guitarist/vocalist/composer David Broyles. With a songwriting style that borrowed initially from the Beatles, R.E.M. and They Might Be Giants, David’s first musical ventures took shape in OKC in the early 90′s, when he started releasing self-produced cassettes and playing acoustic shows in local coffeehouses. After moving to Santa Fe, NM for college in 1993, David established himself in the Santa Fe coffeehouse scene. After releasing three more self-produced cassettes in college, and returning to OKC in the fall of 1999, David became much more focused on working with a band and thus, Dr. Pants was born.
Dr. Pants is David Broyles, Kenneth Murray, Devin Donaldson and Josh Daffron. They are the purveyors of a style known as NERD POWER GROOVE ROCK; Weezer and Beck made a baby with Phish, and that baby is Dr. Pants. These four musicians currently find themselves at the end of THE TRIP; a double album that they released as four separate EPs. In other words, Dr. Pants have given the world a double album, one side at a time. THE TRIP, SIDE 1: ILLUSION & TRUTH & SIDE 2: BREAKING THE FEEL were brought forth in 2011, SIDE 3: WATCHING THE WORLD END IN 2012 & SIDE 4: THE BOOTY IMPRESSION at the beginning of 2013. A double CD set of the entire project is now available.
FEEZLE DAY, the debut Dr. Pants CD, was unleashed in 2000. Towards the end of 2001, David put Dr. Pants on hiatus, since all the other original members had departed, but resurrected it in 2004. Recording of the album GARDENING IN A TORNADO commenced immediately, as well as a return to the stage with new members Kenneth Murray (guitar), Aaron Vasquez (bass) and Dustin Ragland (drums) (Vasquez parted ways with the band in May, 2011, and was replaced by Donaldson, and Ragland stepped down in August of 2012, replaced by Daffron). Containing 13 songs that (mostly) found Broyles returning to his songwriting roots, the album was finally released in 2006. At the end of 2007, GARDENING was named one of Music Connection’s top 25 “demo” recordings of the year. Numerous tracks from the album were also licensed by MTV and featured during broadcasts of “Next” and “Sex…With Mom & Dad.” Most recently, however, many of the songs from GARDENING have been heard on the pop culture phenomenon known as “Jersey Shore.” The song “Donuts” was also heard on “CBS Sunday Morning.” In 2008, Dr. Pants released THE CUSACK-LOGGINS EP. Then, in 2010, the band became one of the first acts to have their music video shot entirely on the iPhone 4. Directed by Kyle Roberts, the resulting clip for “Sarsaparilla Girl” has garnered over 58,000 views on YouTube. And now, in 2011 & 2012, Dr. Pants has given us THE TRIP. THE TRIP is just that: a musical journey through two complete albums worth of music. “I set out to write music that told a story, or many stories, and truly reflected all the aspects of a life,” says Broyles. “Whether real or imaginary, fantastic or mundane, these are stories, emotions and songs that continue to fascinate, entertain and move me.”
David will be composing and recording original music for Nadir's Zenith soundtrack when the Stretch Goals are reached. For more information and to listen to tracks, check out the links:

...and especially thank you to Alyssa, Stephanie and Utty for allowing us to borrow your likenesses and personalities for three beloved characters. Thanks again. You've made this story all the better for being in it.
Risks and challenges
The risk of not completing this project is minimal. Jerry Bennett is great at meeting deadlines. Jackson Compton has scripted the Nadir's Zenith storyline to issue #7. We have worked out any production kinks during the first three issues and have it down to a science now. We've used Ka-blam.com for printing and distribution and have been pleased with their results. Comixology.com usually has the digital version available within 4-6 weeks after submission. The only untested area would be for the trade graphic novel if we meet the stretch goals. We are planning to use China One Imports for a mass printing. Their turnaround time is 6 to 9 months. However, we're confident in their printing service after talking to Jamie Tyndall who uses them for his art books.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
