All watches will now get anti-reflective coating! This coating is designed to reduce light reflection by optical interference. More information here about its amazing benefits!
We reached our second stretch goal! Each watch will now have a Sapphire coating, increasing hardness and quality while maintaining our original design. Read about our new stretch goal in Update #4.
Hi, we're Joe Kwan and Chris Chan, the team behind Anicorn Watches. We're a designer and entrepreneur, respectively, and we love watchmaking.
Following the success of our first campaign for the Series 000 in 2014, we proudly present to you our newest space age watch––the Series K452!
On July 23, 2015 NASA publicly announced the revolutionary discovery of Kepler-452b, an exoplanet known as Earth's bigger, older cousin or "Earth 2," which orbits a star much like the sun.
We began our second watch series with a simple idea: to combine design, typeface, and mechanism within a watch. Inspired by this recent space discovery, the Series K452 was born.
A wearable solar system
In the early 1600s, Johannes Kepler proposed three laws regarding the mechanics behind orbital movements, and his discoveries lead to our contemporary understanding of planetary movement.
The K452 Series pays homage to these discoveries, displaying the relationship between time and space through concentric discs.
The Series K452's disc system contains a 3-layer surface from inner to outer discs, graduated for seconds, minutes, and hours respectively.
As shown below, a reference point is engraved from the top of the watchface to its center so you can read time perpendicularly. The seconds are marked out in the center disc. The minute and hour discs are read through an aperture with a single engraved line at the top of the watch.
Table of contents
The sections below break down the Series K452's features in detail. Here is a quick overview.

Motion powered by you
The Series K452 requires no battery.
It does not need to be wound, but winds itself as you move. Alternatively, you can wind it by turning the crown clockwise. When you wear the watch, your natural movements keep the watch running; you are its power source!
The Series K452 is driven by a Miyota Calibre 9015, a high grade and high frequency model that allows for smooth spinning with great accuracy. Offering slim dimensions and long preserved running time, the Miyota Calibre 9015 is known as one of the highest quality automatic movement motors.
- Vibration frequency: 28800 vibrations per hour
- 24 Jewels automatic movement
- Accuracy: -10~30 seconds per day
- Posture difference: Under 40 seconds per day
- Running Time: More than 42 hours
- Water resistance: 164' (50 m)
*Accuracy of a mechanical watch is different from the daily rate accuracy of a quartz watch. The accuracy will change at a maximum of ten seconds when you manually rewind the spring. Therefore, accuracy of the half wound condition (as the watch naturally unwinds throughout the week) will be different from that of fully wound condition.
A planet, discovered
The Series K452 also contains a transparent case back–a unique feature among timepieces. The case back represents the discovery of the Kepler-452b, showing how this world that was hidden within our galaxy has now been found.
The Series K452 is equipped with a bold 316L stainless steel body, reminiscent of the spacecraft itself, available in 4 stunning models, which you can choose from during the survey process.
- Stainless steel
- Ø 1.65" (42.0 mm)
- Height 0.57" (14.4 mm) back & screws
- Brushed/Polished/PVD Matte black plating
Secure take off
Embroidered by steel, the watch's Milanese mesh bracelet is a tribute to the airless tires of roving space vehicles and offers ultimate protection. The carefully fabricated Milanese mesh is stitched together in a delicate process involving up to 85 steps.
This sophisticated mesh forms a metallic wave on the wrist, giving flexibility to the fit, allowing the skin to breathe freely. Unquestionably tough (it has been called “shark proof”) it is still versatile and light enough for everyday wear.
Offering precision, stability, and toughness all at once, the Milanese mesh bracelet is an ideal space suit for the Series K452.
There are 3 finishes available, which you will choose during the survey process.
- Brushed Milanese Mesh
- Polished Milanese Mesh
- DLC Matte Black Milanese Mesh
Leather strap and planet buttons
Each Series K452 comes with your choice of a Milanese mesh bracelet, plus extra genuine leather straps with planet buttons. The leather straps also have a stainless steel buckle with PvD black plating.
Featuring the members of the discovered planets in Kepler’s neighborhood, the planet buttons come in 3 colors: red (Kepler-20e), yellow (Kepler-186f), and blue (Earth / Kepler 452b).
Milanese mesh? Leather strap with 3-colored planets? Pick your spatial experience.
To swap the straps, the Series K452 has an interchangeable strap system that secures straps with a simple pull and click. Within seconds straps can be changed and perfectly docked, ready for takeoff. The docking system is available for both Milanese mesh and leather straps, so you can choose what style fits you best.
The Series K452 is designed for both men and women.
Simply slide the clasp to the desired slot to adjust the length of the bracelet so that it fits perfectly on your wrist.
Field of vision
The Series K452, unlike traditional timepieces, gives viewers a new way to look at time, and the watch's domed glass is made of convex hard Plexiglass + AR coating.
We have performed several plexiglass hardness tests to measure the breaking energy of the Plexiglass under a simulated dropping impact. The material ensures incredible strength along with a magnificent view of the watch's mechanical universe.
Typeface plays a major role in our timepieces. The customized font was engineered to honor the mechanical beauty of space vehicles, giving the watch a celestial familiarity.
The Series K452 speaks in space terminology––with readings arranged in aviation format, celebrating the altimeter numbers from Apollo 17. All numbers are laser engraved, creating more from less.
Please note: VAT and duties are excluded.
An exclusive launch pad!
The K452 Telescopic Auto Winder will be exclusive for G-star package backers.
The winder will fuel up your watch while on standby, serving as a home base to continually power the Series K452. The auto winder energizes your watch by keeping its motor spinning, mimicking your body's natural movements that keep your watch ticking.
Welcome on board! Every Series K452 will come packaged with a K452 astronaut badge, a laser-engraved metallic card that serves as a document for warranty. The plate is uniquely numbered and issued.
Whether a watch, strap, or bracelet, every item pledged for on Kickstarter is subject to a final quality check at our Hong Kong studio before being hand packaged with care in our premium packaging.
Just like our first campaign, all of our products are produced and shipped out of our Hong Kong factory. Each piece is carefully manufactured and assembled at the highest quality, and goes through our studio for a final inspection before being shipped in our stellar packaging, to ensure that the watches and all their components arrive safely to your doorstep.
We delivered the rewards for our first campaign on time, and will work hard to do the same for this campaign. We are pleased to offer free shipping around the world!
