It's official - AN HONEST LIAR will premiere at the TRIBECA 2014 Film Festival!

We are thrilled and proud to announce that AHL was accepted to premiere at the prestigious  2014 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City!

It is thanks to YOU our great supporters that we were able to make this film and we are so thankful for everything you've done for us!

The schedule has not yet been announced, but when it is we will pass it along. The Festival runs from April 16 - 27, and AHL will screen several times in that period. AHL is showing in the Viewpoints section of the fest.

It will be possible for the general public to buy tickets, but it's likely the numbers will be limited. Have no fear! We will have additional festival and screening announcements coming soon, and there's a good chance we'll be showing the film near you. Keep an eye on our website and sign up for updates if you haven't for the latest news.

Again, THANK YOU ALL! This is just the beginning of what should be an exciting festival run for the film, and we hope to see you all at a screening!

Best wishes,

The Honest Liar Team

@Filip, Does that include backers of the project? Surely films that are made can be shown first to those who paid to make the movie in the first place.

I'm not saying to release it to the general public, All I am saying is that we, the people who made it possible, should be able to see it before anyone else (or at least on the same day as those who can afford to buy a ticket to a festival).

Well done, guys. And well done to all the rest of you contributors.

Many festivals do not allow movies that are released to the public, therefore it's a choice between trying to get as much publicity as posbbile through festivals (and hopefully nominations and prizes) to get it out as much as possible, or releaseing it directly and forfeit that publicity. I can understand why they are going down that road, as a backer I want the movie to be as successful as possible.

I live in the Netherlands and I am already half assuming there will be no screening heres. But I pledged for the digital download so I am also under the assumption that I will be able to download it before or at the same time as the Tribeca Film Festival.

Heys guys do you know if you will be screening the film in the UK e.g Wales ?

      Sorry - Donal, not Daniel!

      Daniel -
Thanks for the comment. First - can't promise we'll screen in Ireland, but there are many international festivals that we might play at - some quite near you. Second, we do absolutely plan to get the film to our supporters BEFORE the general public can get it, and will do everything in our power to make that happen!

I'm in the same boat as Joseph, as I'm sure are many others. I live in Ireland, so it's probably unlikely I'll be able to find a screening. I was hoping the film would be digitally distributed, in a similar manner to Louis CK's 'Live at the Beacon Theater', available for download DRM free online. I was also hoping that my contribution would give me early access and the ability to see it before the general public, but apparently that's not gonna happen. Oh well. I'll settle for a digital download or streaming option. I look forward to an update relating to this.

      Hey Joseph,
Of course we want everyone who supported us to see the film! But not everyone will be able to see it at Tribeca due to geography or ticket availability, so we just wanted to let our supporters know that this isn't the only place the film will play - just the first place! And it will be available on DVD, Bluray, and streaming - we'll let everyone know when that will be as soon as it's worked out (and we'll deliver the film to those who donated for it!)

Umm.. Any chance we (the people who funded the movie) would be able to see it? It's kind of a kick in the balls when you say "We will have additional festival and screening announcements coming soon, and there's a good chance we'll be showing the film near you."

How about on my computer screen?
