Fish Finger - Exploid the Power of Perspective

Fish fingers is a device which consists of two bars, each with its gripping claw at the end. The Reaching Claw is designed in the form of lifelike fingertips, respectively right and left hand, but in the ratio 1: 2. This results in smaller fingers and larger distance between the fisherman and his catch.

 The process of making the ingenious Fish Fingers 

Fish Fingers is MOEFs new pioneering and innovative product idea. Using depth perspective we make it possible for anglers to appear more skilled, when the catch of the day is being perpetuated in a “selfie”. When an angler has caught a fish of a reasonable size he often has the opportunity to have his picture taken of the catch. Common for the vast majority of so-called "fish-selfies" is posing. The angler squats keeping the fish as far forward as possible, only holding the fish with the tip of his fingers. The aim is to get the fish to appear as large as possible.

But what do you do if the catch is not worth much? We have set out to solve the problem of catching fish, that seem too small at first glance. The problem lies not in the fact that the fish are too small. The problem is that the angler’s fingers simply are too big for the fish to appear as something special. This is a problem you can design your way out of - and we have done so with the product Fish Fingers.

It's about depth perspective  

Our starting point has been the traditional reaching claw, which makes it possible to grab the things that would otherwise be out of reach. We then developed numerous prototypes, each of which have been tested by core users, who have been able to provide us with valuable feedback regarding the design and functionality. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

A fish-Selfie – taken with the help of Fish Fingers – enables any angler to appear skilled and competent with a touch of luck. It strengthens the whole selfie culture, not only in the angling community but in society as a whole. There are almost no limits to how this concept can be adapted to other subcultures and social hubs. We believe that Fish Fingers can become a global success and we are very proud of the result.
