About this project
You dirty little monkeys, we reached our goal!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
PLEASE do not let that dissuade you from donating, if you were planning on it already.
$4000.00 is the ABSOLUTE minimum we need to finish the film. The more that's donated, the more opportunities we have to submit to other festivals in addition to Sundance!
I don't know how to put my gratitude in to words. Thank you. Thank you.

Thanks for stopping by! Welcome to the Acorn Calf Kickstarter page.
We're here because we made a great little movie. We rolled up our sleeves, put in a lot of hard work, and wound up with something we're proud of!
All that is left in order to present this quality film to major festivals, and you, is to put on the finishing touches of color correction, sound editing, and other odds and ends that will be paid for by this fundraising campaign— YOU!
So please take a few moments to donate what you can (no donation is too small) and help us finish what we started.

In one pivotal afternoon in rural Oklahoma, we follow the struggle of a son resistant to leave home as Mom's new boyfriend is all too eager to manipulate her into kicking him out—with disastrous results.
Adam Tomei as RUFUS:
Handsome as Elvis; smooth as a preacher on a Sunday night.
Paul Major as CONNERS:
Helpless as an abandoned puppy; desirable as chiggers in bed.
Jeanne Taylor as CELIA:
Sweet as apple-butter, desperate as a deer caught in a barbed-wire fence.
We did it! Our film is officially what we in Hollywood would call, "In the can."
We filmed this movie with 35 of the hardest working, most professional people in the business, including being shot by our amazing DP- Maurizio "Nino" Dotto. There's no way to bottle up the gratitude we feel for everyone involved in bringing these exciting words off the page and on to the screen.
Now what we need to do is "finish it." You may ask what that means: To finish it? "What to do? What to do?"
Stating it quite simply: This is the stage of post production that sets apart amateur films from professional ones. We would not only like to get this out to you and the world, but have a real shot at festivals.
You're probably thinking, "Well ain't that a pickle." Well, we can do it, with just a little help from you.
We'll be using your donations for:
- Color Correction
- Sound Editing, including: Foley, ADR, and Mixing
- Title Design
- Festival Submissions
- Press Kits
Please be "my sweet apple pie" and donate whatever you can. Every bit counts—big or small!
And truly... we thank you, thank you, thank you. You're helping us create, and release into the world, a piece of art that will entertain, and also help this amazing cast and crew get even more work, which they so deserve.
Cheers, love, and many thanks,
Elizabeth and the entire Acorn Calf team
