Stopping by to let everyone know that the Relaunch of our game The 8th Day is now live! You can see it by clicking the link below. We took the time to greatly expand and develop the project and give the game additional polish and depth. You can check it out here!
The 8th Day (Canceled)
A Semi-Cooperative Board-game for 2-7 players where the last remnants of humanity face off against an alien invasion.
As you’ve probably noticed by now the Kickstarter has been canceled, and you deserve the full measure of information as to why. A few days into the Kickstarter campaign we received a notification from our manufacturer that the minimum order requirements for our game would be increasing by one thousand units. This change was to bring them in line with other manufacturers. Our Kickstarter campaign was mapped out according to the lower minimum order requirements. We researched other manufacturers to find that we had no other supply alternative that could provide the detail level on the models we wanted. Thus as of right now if we were to fund at our minimum level we would not be able to provide the game to you. As such, ethically I could not allow the Kickstarter to continue knowing we could not deliver on our promise of an awesome game if it did fund.
At this time we do plan to restart the campaign, though it will be at a future date due to the abundance of Science Fiction related squad games currently on Kickstarter. So keep an eye on our Facebook page for news and updates on where we stand.
There is however a silver lining to this. The higher order quantity has decreased our cost per unit that I feel we can sneak more things into the base game for everyone to enjoy. Most notable will be the inclusion of the Automation kits. The dashboards and decks will be included in the base game so that you will not have to spend extra funds to get the complete experience of the game. Additionally we will move the entire expansion specific and stretch goal items to their respective boxes so that they too are inclusive for the automation experience.
Also when we relaunch we plan to have most if not all of the miniature sculpts available for viewing and should have some prototyped by that date.
I want to thank all of you that backed the project at this time for sticking with us during the lull and tense moments during the campaign. I look forward to seeing you all here when we relaunch our Kickstarter Campaign.
The Pharid Briar is a mass of anger and hate manifested as a human male taken over by the Phaird virus and changed to fit it's purpose. They represent the pure offensive melee capabilities of the Phaird wrapped in a durable bark carapace. Marines are advised to use sniper fire or weapons with armor shredding properties to engage Briars but where available Psionic are the best course of bypassing the Briars defenses.
