STUPID AND WEIRD:
"Stupid and Weird' is an album filled with positive punk jams, weird new-wave electro, a slow jam or two, and tons of spazzed-out sonic explosions. It was recorded at our home studio at AS220 in Providence, Rhode Island on a collection of vintage analog synthesizers and drum machines. It's a modern electronic record created with the technology of 1985 with no computer samples, just real, raw machines.
Mixed by Rocky O'Reily at start together studios in Belfast Irelend, and mastered by Mike Tucci at Engine Room Audio in NYC, we were meticulous in getting the best sounding record we could.
WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?
We spent the last two years touring non-stop. We toured the US with Andrew W.K, we toured the UK a couple times with Wheatus, and we wrote an album about it. These are tour stories - true songs about finding a severed human ear in a rest stop, breaking into a zoo, and watching the sun rise on Stonehenge. These are without a doubt our favorite songs we have written, and we want to treat them right!
We have plans to make "Stupid and Weird" more than an album. On top of making this the best sounding record we have made, we are also:
- Making professional music videos
- Releasing a Math the Band comic book based on tour stories, drawn by Andrew Douglas
- A Math the Band video game
WHAT WILL THE MONEY GO TOWARDS?
- Recording, Mixing and Mastering - $3000
- Multiple music videos - $2000
- Paying artists - $1000
- Fulfilling rewards - $1000
WHO IS INVOLVED IN THIS?
We are working with some incredibly talented artists to bring 'Stupid and Weird" to the 5th dimension. Music videos by Many Hearts Productions, Crash Boom Bang , and Hannah Abelow (to name a couple). A comic book by Andrew Douglas, and a Math the Band video game by Kevin Cole of SuperTry studios!
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE GO OVER GOAL?
If we go over goal, we will make more music videos, and have remixes made. If we reach $10,000, we will record another album at our home studio, mix and master professionally, and release it for free.
If we raise $13,000, that album will become a double disk, and we will record at a world class studio as a full live band. It will Math the Band as we have always dreamt it could be! Completely over the top, pristine recordings with live drums, bass, guitar, a horn section and tons of insane synthesizers. We'll give it the works!!!
Risks and challenges
Since the album is already recorded, there are few risks for this project. The one snag that is possible would be delays in the manufacturing. A delay in Vinyl or CD manufacturing could postpone the release date, but downloads would still be available.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
