Waxwing Magazine is an online literary journal promoting the cultural diversity of contemporary American literature, alongside international voices in translation. Co-editors Justin Bigos and Bojan Louis are writers who currently teach at Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University, respectively. Contributing editors Erin Stalcup, Sara Sams, Corey Campbell, and Lauren Espinoza are also local Arizona writers who work to promote the literary arts in the Flagstaff and Phoenix areas.
Waxwing will publish its first issue in October 2013. Editors, writers, & friends will gather on November 9, 2013 in Phoenix to celebrate the occasion. Poet/Songwriter Spencer Hanvik will perform original work; the editors will read selected excerpts from the issue; and selected non-local artists will contribute to the event via Skype.
Snacks & Refreshments will be served: look forward to autumn bites, Bojan's famous Sazeracs, Sara's impeccable taste in wine, and Erin's pretty juleps.
If you contribute the suggested donation of $20 or more, Sara and Bojan will create a superb cocktail (using premium alcoholic or non-alcoholic ingredients)-- just for you.
