Programming Hope Update for February/March

The Editing Continues...

Since the last update many more scenes have been added and the overall run time is starting to become abit too long, but that's to be expected.    I've spent a considerable amount of time trimming and polishing the first hour of the film so our composer can get started on the music while I continue to edit the back end of the film.

I felt the need to change my choice of composers for the score for logistical reasons.  My previous choice lived in England and I had a feeling it would be too difficult to deal with the creative process and time zone issues over the internet. Luckily I've found another talented and experienced composer right here in Denver that I can collaborate with locally.  His name is Chris Joye, and like much of the rest of this project everything seems to always has a way of working out, he seems like the perfect match for Programming Hope! The music samples he's scored so far go hand in hand with the style of the film, so I'm very excited to see what he comes up with!

We also just had a preliminary meeting to discuss workflow and scheduling with the guys at Side3 studios here in Denver.  They will be mixing and recording the music that Chris will create for Programming Hope.  Chris has just started working on ideas for the main theme, Be on the lookout for a sample teaser when he's done!

Wrapping up a few Loose Ends...

In early March I spent 10 days in Texas gathering a several "pick up" shots that were needed for several parts of the finished film.  I was also able to have a camera in Houston for the exciting news that the nonPareil Institute may also be on the verge of possibly expanding to Houston in the near future!  They packed a room of 250 to discuss their expansion plans.

When's It Going to be Finished?

My original target was late April, however as you might have guessed that may have been too ambitious of a target. I appreciate everyone's patience and support since what really matters is making something special that we can all be proud of in the end! The good news is, things are going great and still moving full steam ahead towards the premiere!  I'm estimating finishing most of the editing by late May, leaving the possibility of dropping in a few shots or interviews after that if it seems warranted.  Chis Joye will be composing the music as I edit, and I have also started to look for a motion graphics artist to come up with the title/opening and closing credits.  Many of these types of things might add some additional time after I finish my part as well.

Since there are so many things in motion, I unfortunately don't have a premiere date yet.  I know that many would like to make plans to attend the premiere so when things get a little more clear towards the end I will be posting an announcement on Kickstarter, Facebook, and the website to give everyone a minimum 60 day "heads up" when we get the date locked in.

Thanks
