Programming Hope - October's News
Just wanted to let you know how things are going and what I'm working on since the campaign ended.
After we successfully finished the fundraising campaign I've been able to focus solely on continuing to work on the rough cut edit of the film. It's been a tedious, fun, and challenging process but as I continue it seems to get easier as all of the pieces are starting to fall into place. There is so much going on at the nonPareil Institute that setting all of that up in a reasonable amount of time at the beginning of the documentary proved to be quite challenging. After many re-edits and additions, that is behind me and I think it now definitely covers all of the bases and hits the mark, setting up the rest of the film and the some of the crew members individual stories.
I also have come up with a tenative agreement with a composer to create an original score for the film. His name is Dexter Britain and his music is featured in several of the trailers already (The Kickstarter trailer is all of his). I think he is VERY talented and I'm really excited about working with him. His music really helps bring that emotional and inspirational feeling to the footage I have. He was always my first choice since I came across his music a year ago. Here's his website if you want to take a listen: (I recommend the album "Ardor" and "Nothing to Fear")
I hope everyone received their Programming Hope T-shirts by now, I know a few of the backers did not fill out the survey so I will be trying to get a hold of you soon to send you your shirt. I'd like to thank Loy Garcia in San Antonio for facilitating the printing and shipping, I think they turned out great, I hope you like them!
I Would Love Your Input...
I am looking for a handful of well known "authorities" to speak on some of the general issues we are covering in the film, not necessarily about nonPareil, but the issues and topics in general. Here are a few examples:
- What is autism and the spectrum?
- Employment or lack of for individuals on the spectrum
- Transitioning to adulthood
These interviews will be used primarily as transitions throughout the film and will set up certain topics which come up through the coverage of nonPareil.
I have a few ideas myself, but I would love some of yours if you have a wishlist of who you might like to see. Feel free to respond with your ideas or contact me through my email below.
Thanks for all of your interest and support, I'm very excited about the way things are moving along!
