What We Are Doing
Hi, we're Bucket of Honey and we are going to make our first full length album. We've been playing around Seattle and the Northwest for a few years. If you've ever come to one of our shows you may have been able to buy an EP with six original songs, crafted with love in our basement. It's a sweet and heartfelt collection and we're proud of the work we put into it.
Over the years we've continued to grow our songwriting skills together creating original music for a variety of programs, festivals and shows. We found ourselves looking back over a very eclectic collection of songs written by us but for something else, branching out into whatever genre or sound seemed appropriate for that specific project.
We got to thinking it might be nice to shift our focus just a little. We should have a Bucket of Honey album, a cohesive full length project. It should include many of the friends we've made along the way. We hope to include you.
Getting It Done
Over the next couple of months we will be returning to the basement for those wonderfully long writing sessions, creating the bare bones of a song and fitting it with found sounds and melodies, then making it into a "sketch" of a finished project. Our walls are already speckled with these sketches but once they are filled, we gather the troops and head into the studio.
We've chosen a modest but comprehensive studio and an engineer we've worked with and trust. Our friend Moe Provencher is one of the expert sound engineers at Jack Straw Studios, an affordable space well suited for our acoustic sound. For mastering, we would be blessed to have the brilliant Luke Harper of Audio Altimeter, Minneapolis, MN, whom we've also worked with and love.
Finally, reproduction. This is another point that was very important to us. We were excited about our EP but struggled to get it out there. Through a little research we've discovered a way to make online and physical distribution easy for everyone. This means we can spend more time as musicians and less as business lady or man, which we are not!
The monetary goal we've set here will pay for a little over half of the project we've outlined and you can rest assured that most of it will be funneled directly back into local businesses.
We want you to know how much we appreciate you're support. All of this love feeds us creatively and we hope to feed you too. We're pretty excited about some of the prizes we've come up with and can't wait to deliver.
We are ready to birth this album, thank you for being a part of it!
Special thanks to the Bucket Club and the street team for all of their support.
