USGlass has 10,000 plus historical glass making moulds. The goal is to create a digital catalog that describes these moulds.
USGlass, Inc is currently putting together a catalog of Fenton moulds. Our Fenton Mould Preservation project entails taking the 10,000 plus Fenton historical moulds, curating the most significant ones based on their era and style, creating a digital record of each one, and making them available to the collectors.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Our challenge is to collate all the data by moulds. Almost all of the records are on paper, some decades old. Finding the information as well as making sure all of the information is similar. Also, a challenge will be figuring out which of the 10,000 are the most important.
Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that the Fenton Historical Mould project will reach it's funding target of $50,000, so the standalone event on July 26th is going to be combined with the Fenton collector's event on July 27th see http://www.fentonartglass.com/events/
Kickstarter does not collect payments for your pledge if the goal is not met, so the project as described will be abandoned and no money collected.
