Have a question?
@Bruce If you downloaded the latest version from the download manager per our email, that should be all you need! Just install OWM and run it. OWM is (as promised) DRM free :)
If you want to access the forums and you don't have the login info, message us directly (via KS is okay).
OK! I found the current version and downloaded it.
At this point, I probably need to have a log in name and password....
Let me know what happens next!
@Bruce Certainly! Backers have had access to beta releases since late 2015 and release versions since August. We are currently working towards the last few stretch goals.
You should have been getting download info emails with each release, let us know if you haven't or if you need us to re-activate your download/resend the email for the current version (V0.9.2).
I was just checking my "dead" Kickstarter pledges and found you.
Did this project ever see the light of day?
@Paul I reactivated your download, you should have received an email with the information. If you don't see it right away please let us know!
Just tried opening my Beta and got the expired notice. Can I get a new code or download or something? Thanks!
The first release candidate, V0.9.1, is finished and about to be released (currently finishing processing the new artwork/themes/presets for this release).
However, you should have received an email for downloading the previous release from late last year (Beta 6, 0.8.6). That's been the current release since then.
I reactivated your download for Beta 6, so you should be getting an email soon. Let us know if you don't get it right away! Also, be on the lookout for the V0.9.1 email soon...
how goes the project my beta has expired and not working, any news?
@Joshua Mac support is the last of the stretch goals and has been the one we had the most delays on. Release Candidate #1 is in the middle of regression testing right now and should be coming out soon.
Release Candidate #2 or the first release will see a beta Mac version release at the same time, but we don't want to give an exact date yet.
Any news on Mac support and compatibility? Still patiently awaiting recognition almost three years later!
@Nancy We're sorry to hear that! We love our kitties anyway though :)
I reactivated your download link in case you get to try it before the new release is out. Of course you'll get a new email once the release candidate is out. Let us know if you need anything else from us!
I had a Cat-tastrophy and my copy of the mapper died with my laptop when the cat dumped water on the laptop. I will need to get a new copy since I still have not gotten a replacement. I am wanting it at least as a zip file someday soon. I am using the library computer and my thumbdrives, Please let me know when I can get a copy downloaded. Since you have just announced an update I figure you are going to be posting it soon, you can contact me at my email. (If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.)
@Guild @Eric A new update has been posted!
So, about that update.....?
@Eric Progress is good. We are working towards the release candidate, mainly addressing bugs and finishing incomplete features.
There is a blog update from early January, but we are indeed past due for another update and blog entry. We'll aim to have an update within the next couple of weeks.
Been a few months without an update, how is progress coming along?
@Joshua We'll have a timeline addressing the remaining stretch goals after Beta 6 is released. The work left for the Mac release is UI which we will pick back up at that point.
Is there a time frame you can give for a Mac beta? 2 years is quite a long time so far.
@Joshua Not yet, Mac support was the last stretch goal from the campaign. We'll release a Mac beta with the first Windows release after the release candidate.
Any chance of Beta 6 involving Mac? Haven't been able to touch this program in two years now since funding it.
What we are working towards right now (and should hopefully be out within a few weeks) is Beta 6. That will be the last beta for the "overland tools," and will be moving dungeon tools to late beta and city tools up from alpha to beta.
So, all the tool sets won't be leaving Beta at the same time, and we will continue adding functionality from the campaign and functionality suggested by all of you :)
Just curious what is in store for the future. Will you be leaving Beta?
@Josh We are working on Beta 5's regression testing. Taking a bit longer than we anticipated, but we are cleaning a lot of minor bugs with this release.
We'll have an update next week when Beta 5 is out.
@Josh You can also look at the "Release Notes.txt" file in the application folder (typically under C:\Program Files\Three Minds Software\Other World Mapper).
@Josh Release notes/change log are shown after installation/update and also posted in the forums :). It's a mixture of bug fixes and new functionality, but also a big update for the expansion artwork.
We'll do a Kickstarter update in a few days to show the new functionality and artwork.
Is there a change log for the new version?
@Jeremy New link sent.
Also, if everything goes OK we will be releasing Beta 4 tomorrow or Tuesday, so you'll be getting another link very soon.
I got a new machine recently and cannot use my link to download the beta any longer (expired). Is there a way I can get a new link?
@TMS - Brilliant - I actually mix those 2 up in my head. The first, was one of the most important ones to me, so I can import faction symbols and stamp them like ships or cities! Now I don't run any Dungeon Campaing tight now, and probably never will again, but I already grown to love the tool. Combine maps and dungeons, and you can make really nice city maps.
@Troels Thank you!!! Ease of use was one of our main objectives, so we're very happy with your first impressions!
Regarding the stretch goals. The first SVG stretch goal added support for symbols in SVG format (i.e. castles, city symbols, etc.). The third stretch goal added the ability to import SVG files as map objects (i.e. importing an existing svg file of a continent as a landmass or lake, etc).
Both of the functions are working and part of Beta 3.
It has been awhile, but what is the first SVG feature supported in SG1 and what is the one in SG3? and What is the difference...?
I was a little afraid, that the scope creep would make the application less accessible - My concerns have been made to shame - In 30-45 minutes I have familarized my self with almost everything. Had to come to grips with presets and some og the variety in the tools, but this is brilliant! So many things can be made, with what was giving. Looking forward to more symbols in release, but still... amazing job!
@Mindy Done :). You should get an email soon with the download link.
I was out-of-town and missed the download window. Could you re-activate mine, as well, if you have a chance? Thank you!
@Jennifer I resent your download email. It may have gone to spam, let me know if you don't see it in your inbox or spam folder within 30 minutes and I can send you a link via KS message.
I have been having issues with my computer and just managed to check all my email and spam folder, and I never received the download link email.
@Katten You can forward the link to your friend, it allows enough tries so that both of you should be able to download it.
If for some reason it doesn't work, just message us and I can send you a second link.
Btw what about us that backed to get one for ourselves and one for a friend will we get a second download link or something like that?
thanks for the fast response I just got it.
@Jason We just went ahead and re-activated everyone's download link and it will now stay active for longer :). You should be getting yours within a few minutes.
Thanks for a quick response it works now :)
mine also says that the link has expired.
@Katten @Jeremy Re-activated both of your download links. Let me know if you have any issues getting to the download page.
Hi the mail had gone to the spam folder an when I click the link the download is expired :/
Found the link in my spam folder, but the download link in it is "expired."
@Malcolm You should have received an email from "firstname.lastname@example.org" in our behalf (Three Minds Software) with the download link to the Beta version (to your email account that Kickstarter gave to us). Check your spam folder just in case.
If you can't find it just message us and we'll re-send the link or message you the link (though it's best if you do get the emails because we'll issue updates that way).
I am having trouble figuring out how to get my backers copy of your software. I am very excited to use it! Thanks in advance for the response.
Thanks for the response! When I get a chance to play around with it a bit more I'll condense my thoughts on the coloring and post to the forums.
@David You should if you can! We would love to join you too, but we don't have the resources to make across....maybe someday! :).
Now, if you do get together take pictures and share them with us!!
