You deserve this...
While we regroup, I'd like to share with you a fantastic way to learn about the work of our talented team...
Cinefex started in 1979, and is still in print today. It is well known for being the journal of visual effects and can ALWAYS be found on the desk of George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and even me. You see, I've collected and read every issue from #1 through today, and I'm excited that it's now coming to the iPad!
However, they need our help. The digital publisher has recently started a new kickstarter campaign to pay for the conversion of the back issues to digital form. The MOMENT I saw this, I HAD to pledge. My personal dream is to have anything that I've read/watched/listened to, etc. at my fingertips, and Cinefex holds a special place in my heart.
(Full discolsure... around issue 50, I started writing for the magazine.)
There is no greater collection of information about the visual effects industry, and you REALLY deserve to own your own collection. Today, it would cost THOUSANDS of dollars to try to get your own collection (and for those familiar, you know the magazine is more of a 'book' than a periodical; you'll WANT to keep every issue). Now, you'll be able to get a smaller collection of specific issues, or even all 126 back issues for around $2 an issue.
EVEN if you have just a slight interest, take a moment, and please go look at their campaign. If I could give you all a gift of the complete set of these magazines, I truly would. My own library has been a fantastic resource on my projects (ALIEN, ALIENS, THE LAST STARFIGHTER, John Carpenter's THE THING, STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE, etc.), and has been used by many of my friends as a remarkable resource.
Take a look... because you'll love it, and you deserve it.

We'll be back with an update about David Gerrold's THE STAR WOLF in the near future. Until then, you'll have some great reading to do.
Cheers, and best always....
