Riddle Room 2: The Starship will be a fully immersive puzzle game developed by the same team that brought you Riddle Room: The Bunker.
Based on live room escape games, Riddle Room is a live puzzle game in which teams of up to 12 players enter a room full of puzzles and have one hour to find the clues to discover the puzzles and solve their way to victory.
This new version will be way better. Here are our initial concept renderings to give you an idea exactly how all-out we're going:
We've rented a storefront in Northeast Minneapolis, where we will be building a starship bridge and filling it with puzzles. This set will feel like a real starship bridge, so all of you who, like me, wished you could have a better bridge simulation game will be very pleased.
Another aspect of The Bunker and most other games like this is that they can only be played once. Not so with Riddle Room: The Starship! This game will be replayable because it will have two scenarios for players to choose from. That means if you play this weekend and decide you like it, you can come back next weekend and play it again!
We are scheduled to open the new Riddle Room to the public in January. Work has already started in earnest on the puzzles, scenarios, and physical design of the room. Construction is set to start in October. If you decide to get tickets to the exclusive preview games, those will take place in December.
Here are some reviews for the current Riddle Room:
"I was so childishly excited that I actually remember squealing and dancing when I found a clue. If you like puzzles and getting so immersed you ignore your cell phone for an hour, try it out. Seriously."
"Riddle Room was awesome!"
"Such a great time. A challenging but fun time. Well worth it. I would highly recommend Riddle Room."
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge is coordinating game, story, and set design. Since every piece is dependant on every other piece, making sure we have everything in place when we start construction will be hard work. But this team is working very well together already and the promise of a full budget is keeping everyone very excited.
As for risks, a large part of this project is a construction project. As with all construction projects, we could have delays based on any number of factors. There isn't a manual for building a Riddle Room, so our construction team will be figuring out the process as we go.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
