A KILLER OF MEN
A KILLER OF MEN is about Kim. His parents were slaughtered when he was 5 and he was raised by their killers, a commune of thieves and murderers who haunt the broken-down American Southwest. As he's about to turn 18, Kim begins to show compassion for others, going against the group's motto "There's no room for kindness in the human heart." Isaiah, the leader, can't abide this and has Kim lined up with all the rest of the children in the gang and shot.
But Kim doesn't die.
He crawls out from the pile of corpses and sets off on a path of revenge to rid the world of Isaiah's evil.
Kim may be a stone-cold killer, but he's our stone-cold killer and he's trying to be something better. Remorse and trying to become a better person is something that I think everyone can get behind.
A KILLER OF MEN is an ode to the golden age of 1970's crime/revenge films. It is uncompromising and unflinching in its portrayal of human savagery and violence. We're taking a look at the worst kind of people and then giving the audience satisfaction by having them get what they deserve. Most importantly, A KILLER OF MEN is FUN. We're going to make a revenge movie that you'll want to watch again and again.
While, we're still sorting out our lead, we've managed to assemble an amazing 5-man gang that will strike terror into everyone they come across.
Andy Mackenzie (Shoot 'Em Up, True Blood, Sushi Girl)
James Duval (Independence Day, Donnie Darko, Gone in 60 Seconds)
David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight, Horsemen, Keen)
Abraham Benrubi (ER, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Men in Trees)
Ronnie Gene Blevins (American Cowslip, Bleed, Southland)
We couldn't be more excited to have such an awesome team of villains. We think you'll like 'em.
The desert is a harsh and brutal environment, yet it is all Kim really knows. The world of A KILLER OF MEN is broken-down, rusted. All the paint is peeling. It supposes a vision of our country gone to hell, regressed to the point of the old west when outlaws roamed the lands doing what they pleased. In those harsh times, the only one who could stop an outlaw was another, even worse outlaw. That's exactly who Kim is.
WHO WE ARE
Writer/Director Gregg Meller and Producers Josh Mendoza & Steve Parsey became friends in the MFA Program at USC's School of Cinematic Arts because they all liked badass movies. A KILLER OF MEN marks the first chance they all have to make a film on this scale for this wide of an audience. It will hopefully be one of many badass tales they will produce together.
Despite our bloodlust, the team behind A KILLER OF MEN couldn't be nicer guys. We love puppies, enjoy long walks on the beach and always tip 20 %.

We're all really pumped about the film, and we need your help to make it!
"You're only asking for 15 Grand, how can you make a movie this awesome for so little?" Well, quite simply, we can't. We've been fundraising our asses off for the past few months and we're almost there! We're using kickstarter to raise the gap financing we need to get this film off the ground. Since this is a movie people want to see, we're asking for their help to make it!
In return for your support, we are offering prizes essential to any outlaw or badass.
HOW KICKSTARTER WORKS
This part's really simple. You watch our video. You say, "Wow, that looks like a movie I want to see! I should help them make it!" And then you pledge to donate money. If our pledges meet our goal of $15,000, then we get get that money and you get charged. If we don't make the goal, you don't have to pay one red cent. Though our goal is $15,000, anything over that can only make the movie bloodier and better.
If you have any questions about the film, getting involved, planning revenge or even if you just want our recipe for bacon-bourbon (alas Kickstarter won't let us give it away!) feel free to email us at: email@example.com We look forward to hearing from you!
