Over10 years ago, we came out with our first cd, entitled "Kenny Hall and the Skiffle Symphony, All Day Long/All Night Long" Since then, we have added new band members and worked up a lot more material, but we haven't been able to make a follow-up cd that truly shows our band's evolution. We have succesfully recorded several tracks with Kenny Hall, and plan to feature him on this cd. In case you don't know,he's awesome! He's almost 90 years old, and plays mandolin with his index fingernail (no need for a pick) as well as fiddle and guitar. He also sings the heck out of old timey songs! He memorized over 1.100 pieces of music and is the subject of a documentary titled "I hear what you see."
This time we would also like to include other instruments and musicians in the mix. This line-up includes harmonica player Mike Feely, autoharp/guitar player Tawnya Kovach, fiddle/banjo-uke player Lauren Ruhl, banjo/accordion player Ingrid Noyes, and guitarist/vocalist/cellist Meredith Axelrod. We want this cd to be a great product, not just a thrown together, low-budget demo. Professionally made cds are expensive to make, and hard-working bands like us can take years to scrape together the money to produce them. We are hoping that kickstarter will help us finish this in months instead of years, but that part will be up to you. That's my plea, thank you for your support!
