Let's Play Expeditions: Conquistador!
We've managed to raise a very impressive $13,000 in our first week on Kickstarter. We're all thrilled and flattered at your attention and your enthusiasm for our project. It's looking good so far, but there's still a long way to go! The reason we haven't done more updates here isn't that we don't care or that we're not excited about your contributions, but simply that we've been completely working our asses off on a press build of the game.
We mean to send this build out to the major gaming news outlets, which will hopefully get us a lot more coverage than our Kickstarter project alone can muster - after all, this Kickstarter is just some nice videos and a lot of promises, but the build is hard evidence that we're making a game with lots of depth, character, and attention to detail. The press build has the intro campaign on Hispaniola with about 4-5 hours of gameplay in total. We've got the main campaign all planned out, so if our Kickstarter is funded, we will produce about 20 hours of further gameplay.
If you're not press, don't despair: We're going to be showing the build off at Gamescom next week! If you're anywhere in the vicinity of Köln, Germany between Tuesday and Sunday, drop by Hall 10.1, Stand C011, say hello and try the game on one of our demo stations.
In the meantime, people have been requesting more footage of the game and more information about the play experience. Our game designer Jonas Wæver has recorded Let's Play style videos of two of the battles from the game - one of the early fights as well as a fight about half-way through the Hispaniola campaign. Please watch the first video above, and the next battle video will be up tomorrow. Let us know what you think in the comments here on Kickstarter or on YouTube! If you like it, we'll be sure to produce more of this sort of thing in the future.
Thank you and please keep an eye out for further updates,
