Hello, I'm Daniel, a german programmer and 3D artist from Dochengmedia. As I startet an internship at a company in july last year, i learned alot about 3D modelling. My first 3D model I created was a wheel for a car. Then I startet creating a tank, because I played a lot World of Tanks. My co-workers were so excited about my 3D model of the Tiger I tank. Then they told me to put it into Unity and I should try to make a game out of it. So I did and now I work there as a developer. And now I'm working to finish this project on my own.
Do you like tanks? Do you like to know what it's like being a soldier in a tank? I wanted to experience the life of a soldier inside a tank in battle and that’s why we developed this virtual reality game. If you feel the same, TankVR is the right game for you! The game shows you the tank war from the perspective of a soldier in a tank. You are playing a german soldier inside a Tiger I tank. The tank war was hectic, loud and deadly. You'll experience all that for yourself, comrades who scream and die in front of your eyes, shots fall and damage your tank.

Controls: At the moment, the tank is controlled only by one person. The controls are mapped to the buttons on the controller, therefore, there are no interactive interiour controls like moving the turret wheel to turn the turret.
AI Tanks: The game features hostile and friendly AI tanks. The AI is able to spot, shoot and drive just like a real crew. If you drive into their spot radius, they will be driving towards you and start shooting at you tank.
Local Ranking: In singleplayer you have a local ranking leaderboard for your and your friends best scores. The score depends on how far away you destroyed the hostile tank. The farther away, the more points you'll get. After the battle ends, you are able to give the score you just scored a name, so you and your friends can compete against each other on one computer.
Scenarios: TankVR features two different scenarios at the latest version. HallufIsland is a small map with some trees and two hostile tanks. WaterRush is a bigger map and features a forest like feeling. On this map ware four hostile tanks and you got a friendly tank next to you.
Tank: At the moment, there's only one playable tank in the game. That's the Tiger I. It features a realistic and historic interior.

AI Tanks: The AI will get improvements too. Such as, improved driving skills and damage system.
Global Ranking: For better competition in singleplayer, TankVR will get a global ranking leaderboard with score entries from all players around the world.
Soldiers Allocation: In singleplayer you'll be able select your soldiers allocation (Gunner, Driver, Loader, Commander).
Multiplayer: You are playing with three other people or friends inside your tank. The multiplayer will feature a 4 player and 8 player mode. In the 4 player mode, your crew has to destroy all hostile AI tanks with litle help from friendly AI tanks. In the 8 player mode you have to destroy all hostile AI tanks and the tank controlled by the other 4 player crew. You are able to talk to you crew via ingame voice chat. Who ever plays better as a team, wins the battle.
Interactive Tank Interior Controls: You are able to control the tank by rotating the turret control wheel to the left or right. The turret will then move in the same direction. If you are the Leader, you have to grab a tank granade and put it in to the chamber. And don't forget to lock it.
More tanks and scenarios to play are planned as a stretch goal.
It's impressing how the game has developed from idea to a playable game in the last year. There were no AI tanks in Pre-Alpha, just simple targets you have to hit. Even the tank phsysics was very simple. No suspention movement when braking, accelerating or shooting. The tank didn't move or tilt backwards when shooting or forwards when breaking. The graphics were very simple, just to get things started as I created the textures and scenarios for next versions.
In the alpha state, the game received new high-resolution textures. The scenarios from pre-alpha have been a completely redesigned. The biggest improvement is the implementation of AI tanks. They work like any real tank crew. We replaced the players tank model with a new, historical accurate Tiger I tank model.
Further, we updated the game menu to get more interactions with the game. The menu is a military base. You are inside a tent with a table. On the table you can interact with the games menu. Here you can start the game, select the map and tank and change the settings.

Currently, I'm the only one who is developing this game. That's why it’s taking longer and costs more than planned at the beginning. Everything we earned through Steam got invested back into the game. The goal is to finish this game in the next 6 month. To reach this goal, I have to hire one or two developers to help us to finish developing this game in the next 6 months.

Because the game is in it's early stage, it might happen, that the game has bigger bugs. If I get to know such bugs, they will be fixed in the next patch.
