Bringing something new to the table.
We want to put several new things on the table, actually. Right now we want to start producing a new kind of board game review. We want them to be just as informative as the other reviews out there, but we want them to be polished, relevant, and most importantly concise.
We feel like there's a wide open slot in the market for something like that, so we've put together a pilot, we've posted it to YouTube, and linked to it from our website, we've talked about it on the social medias, and its all part of this big board-game-reviewing-(and hopefully making)-machine that we're just starting to roll on.
We're calling the reviews our "Terrible 2 Minute Reviews" (we're flexible on the "two minutes" but); its our goal to release a new board game review each week, ad infinitum. We're planning to review new, old, obscure, and just generally great games and release them to the world every Friday.
Down the road, our hope is to bring several of the board games that we're working on to market, but for right now we just need help getting off the ground. So we're coming to the best platform out there, to find the most loyal fans ever, to help help us with our launch.
Here's the pilot we put together. (We're hoping it's the type of thing that you'd like to see more of).
With your support we hope to accomplish several things:
1. Flesh out our set with props and all the necessary trimmings.
2. Buy the necessary lights and audio equipment for that professional level of production.
3. Produce and post our next 10 videos.
4. Cover the cost of cool rewards to give to our supporters.
$1,000 doesn't seem like enough to cover all that you say? We want to be 100% transparent and say that first off, we're REALLY frugal. We're planning to build most of the props ourselves, so we just need the raw materials. And we do already have most of the video equipment (there's just a few odds and ends that we still need). We've also got sweet hookups with a local screen printer who's helping us with all the imprinted materials. We're pretty connected and want to use our resources wisely.
Let us say "Thank you" in advance for whatever you can give to help the cause. Here's a peek at the what some of you will receive (depending on pledge level).
Tantrum Tee. Custom, limited edition screen printed t-shirts.
Dice Ball. Great for relieving stress. Better for throwing at people.
Stickers. Put them on your car, your laptop, your friends.
Risks and challenges
Our tantrums get a little rowdy sometimes, so likely, our greatest risk is scratching the lens on our new camera. All seriousness aside though, the thing that we're most nervous about is just connecting with you, our target audience. We feel like we know you guys—like we ARE you guys—but what if we make these next several videos and you don't like them? (You'll like 'em right?). Aside from that, and the time it will take to produce really high quality stuff, we believe we can most definitely pull this off with your support.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
