Let us know how many expansions you bought.
WANT MORE COPIES OF FUNEMPLOYED?
We have had several inquiries from backers about getting an extra game or two. We love that type of support and enthusiasm and are happy to oblige. Being that this is a game, we have a few rules:
1st rule: You need to be a backer at the $29 or above level
2nd rule: Additional games will be shipped to the same address
as the initial game.
3rd rule: You can add as many extra games as you want.
4th rule: Each additional game costs $25 (for US backers) or $29
(for backers outside of the US).
You manage your pledge the same way as explained in the holiday expansion.
Also, see below for our final stretch goal.
"Funemployed is a party game along the lines of Snake Oil or Cards Against Humanity, but it blows them both out of the water with the force of a depth charge...The reasons that this is so much funnier than anything we’ve played are subtle, but undeniable...It’s just astonishing. I found myself laughing just looking at the cards I’d been dealt. "
-- Shut Up and Sit Down (click for full review).
Funemployed is the satirical job application party game for 3 or more players. Make your best pitch for different jobs using four qualifications not fit for any real job interview. Creativity and the ability to spin a good story are key. It is tricky to justify your "burrito" qualification when applying for the job of astronaut.
After all players have had their "interview," the interviewer selects the person who created the best story out of their qualifications. That person wins the card and a new round starts.
It's not always easy to explain why Fairy Dust, Jacked Forearms, Treats, and a Time Machine make you the most qualified to be a Competitive Eater, but we have faith you can do it.
Players can use Qualifications in any way they can imagine--there are no restrictions. So long as the Qualification is used in one way or another, anything is fair game. For example, here's some different ways to use the Qualification card "Open":
1) I'm great at delivering the opening prayer. (Altar Boy)
2) I'm excellent at opening up animals with my cleaver. (Butcher)
3) During MY time outs, your children will never open their bedroom doors. (Nanny)
4) I keep diplomatic channels open between all nations. (Politician)
5) I'm open to volunteering as Tribute. (Reality Show Contestant)
It's funny, fast, simple, and may make your beverage exit your nose while playing.
- One box (5 1/2 x 9")
- 40 Job cards (such as Child Actor, Magician, and Pirate)
- 260 Qualification cards (such as Box Wine, Clammy, and Yoga Pants)
- A finely written set of rules
From Rob Daviau, publisher
I fell in love with Funemployed when I saw it at the Boston Festival of Independent Games in 2013. It had a short print run in 2014 and, when I saw that it was available, I begged Anthony to let me print it. It's everything I love about a party game -- clever, quick, funny, saucy, and interesting. At GenCon this year, people played it until I had to kick them out of the game room at 2 am. They returned the next night and were right back at it.
As its new publisher, we're hoping to fund a larger print run of the game.
It's a game that deserves it.
Here's what other people have been saying about Funemployed:
"The party game for millennials...less about playing to your friend's individual sense of humors and instead more about rewarding creativity."
--Kill Screen Daily
"Solves the boring problem that many card-playing judged party games have, where you don't have a good card for the situation at hand."
-- The Escapist
"A solid party game that's bound to become a regular among groups of friends who love card games, creativity, and employment."
-- Indie Hangover
"Makes job interviews fun...I purchased the game immediately." -- Rage Quit Profanity
"A fun new look at the hard life of unemployment and corporate interviews." -- Blip Talk
"He proposed to me with it. How could I say no?"
-- Carrie Neff

$20,000 = 100 MORE CARDS
If we reach $20,000 in funding we're going to put more cards in the base game – 100 more cards to bring the total number of cards from 300 to 400*. That's 25% more cards and 25% more funny for the exact same price. Everyone who has backed us will get a bigger game without changing their pledge.
*Give or take a few, per our printer's specifications.
800 Backers = A COMPANY ORG CHART
Companies are big on org charts so VPs can show the world their power. We're no different. We're really happy with how fast our organization is growing and want to show you where you where you stand in the chain of command.
If we get to 800 backers will create an org chart that you will get in two forms:
1. A PDF of the org chart will go out with all the PnP files. Print it out! Hang it up on a cubicle wall!
2. A version of the chart will go into every game of the first print run. Your name and title will be recorded for all to see.
And you thought that the Senior Manager promotion meant nothing.
$40,000 = OUR FIRST EXPANSION
If we reach $40,000 we will make available our first expansion for the game, Seasonal Help (working title). Seasonal Help is a 100-card pack focusing on jobs and qualifications from the holidays. Explain to the family why you'd be the best leprechaun using nothing but your candy corn, five golden rings, latkes, and freedom. Use the expansion on its own or mix the cards in with the main game. The expansion would be a $10 add on to your pledge (plus shipping costs outside the US).
$48,000 = COMPANY OFFICE PARTY
Who doesn't love an office party? We certainly do. If we reach $48,000 we will host a Funemployed office party at GenCon 2015 in Indianapolis. Corporate name tags. Food. Drink tickets. Gladhanding. Talk about third quarter profits. We'll have it all.
Seriously, though. We'll throw a party at GenCon for our backers. We'll give you food and a few drinks, thank all of you personally, sign games, and have some sort of goodies for you to leave with. We know that not all of you go to GenCon, but we feel it's the biggest place to throw a game party.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Urban Island Games, LLC was founded by Anthony Conta in 2013. Funemployed, the first printing, made its debut in the Indie Megabooth at PAX East 2014. It sold out, got picked up by another publisher, and here we are. Anthony has been designing digital and tabletop games since 2012, but he's played them all his life. The four main Funemployed qualifications that describe Anthony are: Soft Hands, Survival Skills, Candy, and The Antidote.
ABOUT THE PUBLISHER

As a designer, co-designer, developer, copywriter, and editor, Rob has worked on over 70 published games. Some notable games Rob has worked on are Risk 2210AD, Betrayal At House on the Hill, Star Wars Epic Duels, Heroscape, and Risk Legacy. The four main Funemployed qualifications that describe Rob are: Hot Mess, Three Piece Suit, Extra Credit, and Shooting Blanks.

Create a Card Disclaimer
We are happy to open up the game to you, the backers, and have you put your own personal touch on Funemployed. After all, Kickstarter is all about crowd funding and building a community, and what better way to build a community than having backers collaborate with us on the game.If your backer level entitles you to make a card, we’ll work together to make something that will work great for the game. Ultimately, though, as the publisher and designer, we get the final say.
Risks and challenges
With a team that combines over 50 years of industry experience, we're certain that nothing big can go amiss. We've lined up a printer. We have the game, card copy, box die lines, graphic design, and content ready to go. We've calculated weight, found a fulfillment house, and understand our shipping parameters.
There are some variables that are beyond our control. For example, the games could get held up in customs. Bad weather could delay shipping. None seem likely to affect our 2Q ship date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
