Hello. My name is Dorian, brainchild behind the Darkblood Chronicles project. The purpose of this campaign is to greatly enhance Darkblood Chronicles, an endeavour three years in the making.
Darkblood Chronicles is a completed game. In that sense, there is no real risk in backing the project, as the enhancements are largely cosmetic. See what RPGFan had to say about the original game in Neal Chandran's excellent 8.2/10 review.
The game was released for a limited one month run in December 2013. During that time, feedback from fans and reviewers was collected. Based on the overall feedback, I knew he game had a solid foundation - but, something was missing. The feedback became a source of motivation for additional enhancements and improvements that would take the project to the next level.
By supporting the project, your help will be utilized to upgrade the game in a variety of ways. Those in the second tier and above will receive a copy of the game once completed.
So what's in the works for enhancements? Well, to start, each of the areas in the game will be redone in a style that is more consistent with a dark ambient atmosphere.
Additional animations will be created and existing animations extended for all playable characters. This includes more elaborate win and battle entry animations, as well as more fluid injury and death animations.
15 tracks were paid and commissioned by artists Carlos Castellano and Nicolas Adjignon, with another 15 acting as place holders. Nicolas Adjignon will be called back to compose additional tracks for existing scenes and areas.
An additional dungeon with expanded storyline segments will add an extra layer of depth and insight into character backgrounds and motivations.
A professional writer will be hired to proof read the game script from start to finish and correct any errors, ensuring a smooth and error free reading for players.
The end goal is a game that is a complete polished gem.

Here is a short time-line that is relevant to game development since the launch of the original fan-release.
On December 30th, a Steam Campaign was launched for Darkblood Chronicles. With enough support and votes, I hope to bring the game to number 1. Risks and challenges
The game is already complete, so there's no real challenge in that respect. The biggest hurdle will be creating a new visual style with the backgrounds that are complementary to each other and consistent with the theme and ambience of the overall game.
One of the biggest hurdles I have had with the project during an initial release and testing period was getting the word out and generating buzz and interest. Outside of a few small circles and utilizing communities where we could, I found marketing dollars for advertising was severely lacking. So, another challenge will come in utilizing the marketing money as best as possible to ensure the word gets out there and that the game is a success.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
