The project has been shot and now funds are needed for post production, editing and original music.
Risks and challenges
Sit back, crack open a cold one and see the history of the one time, and perhaps future beer brewing capital of the world, Brooklyn NY. This 50 minute documentary explores the origins of the brewing industry in Brooklyn from early 1800s up to and including the modern day craft brewers and home brewers who are helping to transform the borough into one of the most sought after places in the world to live and work. The film features interviews with historians, brewers and beer lovers alike and includes vintage footage and excerpts of classic Brooklyn beer commercials that would bring a smile to Don Draper's face. "Brewed in Brooklyn" is must see DVD for anyone who loves beer, Brooklyn or history.
It is paramount that we get this film funded, not just because it is fun and interesting to see, but we believe it can show community activists and urban planners beyond Brooklyn how entire neighborhoods can be revitalized. And if they are having some beer along the way, all the better!
Funding for the project will go to original music, insurance costs which are necessary in the documentary business and post production.
Although there are risks associated with any artistic project, we have proven that we are able to bring things in under budget and within deadlines. This project will not be an exception. Cheers!
