AWESOME 8-BIT SKATE MUSIC
Retro Skate brings back classic arcade gaming into a thrilling, treacherous, skating, board bashing, adventure.
Remember Double Dragon? Remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Level 4-2 on the skateboards fighting the Foot Clan? Well we want to take those awesome fighting elements and mix them with awesome skate tricks!
A dark power has invaded the earth and the only one who can save it is a retro hipster, baggy-pants, skater.
Retro Skate takes some of the best features from our favorite arcade & NES games.
You will be able to skate through many levels. Check out the skateshop to get board upgrades as well as to purchase weapons like chains, baseball bats, ninja-stars, molotov cocktails, and many more.
You will also be able to earn cash in the game that can be used to unlock new boards and tricks.
Collect trick powerups in-game to earn coins, unleash devastating attacks, and to look awesome as you dodge obstacles and fight enemies.
Retro Skate is staying 100% true to real-life skate tricks. From 360 flips to 5-0 grinds to the Benihana -- we've got em' all!
Each level has an intense boss battle to help us also stay true to these classic NES/SNES games.
The game will have classic co-op multiplayer like in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 & Double Dragon. Fight side by side with up to 4 total players.
If we reach our funding goal, we will be opening a real life skate line based around Retro Skate. We will sell clothes, boards, and more - all pixel all the way!
On that same note - if funding is met we will be creating a level editor that will allow you to create levels, drop in baddies & obstacles, and play them with your friends & the world!

The game will be built using the cross platform Unity 3D game engine.
Aside from the work of Black Moon Design and Danimal Cannon, we will have 3 Unity 3D programmers working on the project.
SKATE OR DIE MAN!!
Skateboarding runs deep in our veins, so deep that our blood cells might actually be tiny skateboards cruising around. We have a passion for apps/games as well. Retro styled games are something that always takes us back to “those were the days”. It’s a part of history that will never be forgotten. Our vision is to expand on this. We will take awesome skating features and mix them with extreme fighting and arcade adventure like in Battletoads, TMNT2, and Double Dragon.
Retro Skate will be the first Retro Styled skating game available on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, PC, Linux, & OUYA.
This is not only a skateboarding game, but authentic to the roots! This game is designed by individuals who skate and understand games to give it a real “skateboarding” experience. Retro Skate will take you back to “those days”.
Here is a very rough prototype of the game. We wanted to test cross platform deployment as well as frames per seconds and graphics implementation. Not much going on - but at least something is going on ;)

Risks and challenges
As with any large task or project like ours, there are substantial challenges and risks.
How will we ensure that all prizes are delivered on time and according to schedule?
We have pre-arranged agreements with all of our physical reward manufacturers. We have pricing and shipping logistics set up for skateboard printing, clothing printing, and the mini-deck shipping.
We also have a dedicated company project manager who has already arranged the management of getting products from suppliers to you the backers. Every donation and reward will be recorded in our database and no backer will be left behind!
This same management process will occur for the digital rewards.
How we will ensure the game is delivered on time?
We have a dedicated project manager who will be producing Retro Skate. That manager will work with our programmers, game designers, artists, and sound engineers to ensure that all asset lists are accounted for and that each asset is being built according to schedule and delivered to the right team member. This manager role is crucial to the success of the project.
How will we make sure the game is fun and amazing?
We have game designers who have worked on multiple games, both large and small. They know what makes a game fun and what doesn't. There will be 2 game designers on this project to ensure that the game is living up to the Fryza standard. We also will be listening to community feedback in this campaign as well as the beta testing. We take all inquiries and comments seriously.
