If you are like me you like things that are functional, a work of art, and collectable all at the same time! I have created Fusion Dice to do just that. You can display them with your dice collection and then when its game time you can take 'em out to play!
What are Fusion Dice made of?
Well, they are made from a composite material of pulverized stone and acrylic resin fused together under super high pressure with metal flaking added. They polish to a great shine and each one will be polished one at a time on a buffer by me ONLY to make sure that they are quality. I will also be putting them in a vibratory tumbler to round the edges slightly to prevent major damage to game boards and mats. Please note that although the patterns from die to die will be similar, they will all be just a little bit different due to the way the blanks are made.
How are Fusion Dice made?
I am making these dice on a small CNC mill that I have access to for a short time to make the first ones. They will be an accurate 16mm standard size dice for now. I get the bare stock and cut them all to size. After that is done they are placed back in the mill 4 at a time to cut the pips in. Then they have to be flipped over and clamped for each side. The CNC mill is for sale and with the help of each and every one of you I will be able to buy it and we all can make these come alive!
These will be made by ME in my garage. I am not a business that will ship these to china to be made for pennies on the dollar. Made right here in Iowa by me. And I can PROMISE you that it will stay that way. It will be a great feeling of pride if I ever seen these dice somewhere that they were made by just one guy that had an idea and a garage. And that all of you had made it possible.
The New addition! Fusion Fudge!!!
Add $15 to your pledge per die. Limit of 2 per backer please.
I have had some questions about the pips. On the green you can choose regular pips or numbered pips. Either with the 6 or the K pip.
If the $7000 Stretch Goal is hit everyone will receive one black velvet dice bag!!!
Risks and challenges
Some of the risks will be to make all these dice in a timely manner as I have a full time job and two children that have different activities going on. With the mill at hand it should not be a problem to get them made. I already have all the programming done and ready for production. If for some reason I cannot keep up I can get help from friends and family. I am going to do everything I can to keep up. I don't for see any problems with production for now.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
