ERAS is an anthology series reinventing public domain characters created by Bob Haney similar in nature to Alan Moore reinventing old DC characters for the Watchmen. Each ERAS story takes place in a different decade from the 1930s to the 1990s with a different character facing the same recurring threat but never meeting, similar to the Grant Morrison series Seven Soldiers of Victory.
Parrish is based very loosely on Ted Parrish, the Man of 1000 Faces, an actor who would disguise himself to fight the enemies of America, which usually meant racist stereotypes of foreigners.
With Ted Parrish we take the makeup aspect and the pugilism and we use it to tell a story about pathos, relationships and redemption. Or it is like The Artist with boxing and Frankenstein's monsters. Who isn't interested in that?
But wait, I mentioned test project? This is a preliminary project to see what works since we are also going to be working on a graphic novel after this titled Prison Spaceship. We are looking to get people who are interested in seeing more collaborative work from us, so by supporting us on this project it will help us to gauge interest for Prison Spaceship.
