About this project
What is Proatmeal?
Proatmeal is an organically flavored convenience food focused on the gluten free and vegan combination of oatmeal and brown rice protein. While the fitness community has mixed whey and oats before, they suffered from poor taste, inconvenience, and low quality ingredients. The idea is essentially GNC meets Trader Joes… Quaker oats meets Muscle Milk…but not made just for fitness pros. Pound for pound, Proatmeal is one of the healthiest foods in the world. It hits heavy in protein, fiber, and complex carbs for a healthy and filling mix with no preservatives.
Our launch flavors are PB, Banana & Chocolate (Contains peanuts), Blueberry Cheesecake, and Plain & Simple (mix up your own flavor combinations).
Why will Proatmeal work for you?
For starters it hits areas most prepackaged meals miss:
Pound for pound Proatmeal will be the best power food on the market. Proatmeal hits heavy in protein, fiber, and complex carbs for a healthy and filling mix with no preservatives… and it's way better than any shake or bar.
Proatmeal compared to other market offerings:
• Triple the protein of a cup of cooked Quinoa
• Nearly double the protein as the leading Greek Yogurts with none of the sugar
• Three Lean Cuisines worth of protein for less than 300 calories
• Quality carbs packed with one fourth of your daily fiber

Put that in a single serve package that you can prepare anywhere and make it taste great. Impossible? No. Proatmeal offers the sustained energy of quality oats with more protein than any bar or shake. Power yourself for all day meetings, fuel your active lifestyle, and perfect your diet all with a solution that's easy to grab and go…. all you need is hot water! Proatmeal combines convenience and great taste with pure organic ingredients. It’s the world’s perfect food.
The Proatmeal Story:
Five years ago, Jeff “Cheffrey” Shuster introduced his older
(and out of shape) brother Greg to chocolate whey protein mixed with oats after
using it to help keep him in shape while traveling full time for work.
Proatmeal was an integral part of Jeff’s diet while he was living near
Washington D.C. and working full time in Northern California. What began as a
tasty and healthy daily alternative to hotel breakfasts, fast food stops,
airport prices, and office bagels became a habit he’s kept ever since. Over
time, the brothers have cooked up and consumed multiple versions the original
concoction in search of something better. We shared with friends, family, and
frankly anyone who would have a taste!
The brothers Shuster know that Proatmeal isn’t a new concept and different recipes can be found littered throughout bodybuilding message boards across the net. They want to provide people inside and outside the fitness community with something that tastes great and is convenient for a busy lifestyle. Why settle for the single serving Quaker packet in the office kitchen when you can have a full meal’s worth of protein to power you through your day? Though there are many like it, Proatmeal stands alone in what it delivers.
Our mission is to provide the healthy base of anyone’s diet regardless of how many days a week you hit the gym or how many hours you work. We’ll give you something that tastes great, is convenient to eat, and will improve your health.
Our goal is to bring this to the office, travel and gym bag, and pantry of everyone who wants a convenient solution to improving their health.
Risks and challenges
We are able to make the product now and deliver it to friends and family ad hoc. Unfortunately, this model doesn't scale very well. With your help we'll be able to facilitate our goals:
• Earn capital to purchase materials in larger/bulk quantities, thus driving down the per unit cost to the consumer.
• Improve the packaging options (think single serving cup).
• Rent an FDA approved facility for packaging and distribution.
• FDA, Organic, GMO free and other licenses.
• Acquire shelf space at retail locations
• Develop partnerships and marketing initiatives with related healthy living organizations.
