Support for Outlandish Travel Guides is support for accessibility in travel + global citizenry.
Outlandish (LiveOutlandish.com) is an organization created with the intent of teaching people how to use travel as an education. Founded in 2013 out of San Diego, California, we have since expanded to a for profit and nonprofit arm.
After traveling independently for 3 years I was astounded by how few other disabled travelers I would meet on my journey. Though I can't claim to be surprised - while 20% of the world population is disabled, only an estimated 3% of our physical structures are fully accessible to people like me. That's bullshit!
Alright, Let's Hear More About The Dog!
This is my Great Dane, Vonnegut! He's my ride or die, so of course he'll be taking the trip to these 5 cities with me. His favorite place in the world is standing up out of the roof of my Smart Car, ears and lips flapping in the wind.
Risks and challenges
Disrupting the travel market isn't an easy task. Promoting accessibility for changing the world is even more difficult.
In our journey to overcoming the obstacles that stand in our way, we are seeking valuable partners who share in our vision. Individuals and organizations that can contribute funding, industry expertise and resources to the collectivization of achieving our goal are greatly needed.
