The documentary will explore the drug consumption in Holland mainly focusing on cannabis use in Amsterdam. We will discover exactly what the residents of Holland really think about cannabis being legal to smoke.
The documentary will examine the history of Holland and discovers how it has become stereotyped for its use of Marijuana. Examining a large selection of people including: residents, coffee shop owners, and people involved in the infrastructure of the Dutch government. The documentary will be based upon these varied and in depth perspectives creating a broad discussion about this subject.
I will produce an unbiased documentary including education and entertainment factors as well as the conflicts that arise. As residents of Holland will have varied views upon legalised consumption of cannabis in Holland, it will be interesting to argue between themselves which will contradict with those in government providing the information for the documentary if some are willing to speak. Can it really be only tourists who 'apparently' utilise the legalisation of cannabis or is it an issue, which affects the country as a whole?
I will overall look into the history of Amsterdam and its development to become a country, which appears to openly accept cannabis use.
Risks and challenges
Finding contributors will be a hard task as some people may not be comfortable talking in front of the camera. Locations may also be difficult because of legal reasons, so some coffeeshops may not allow us to film in there.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
