There are 4 stretch goals. When the goals are met, the following additional rewards will be added to the rewards of every backer who get a machine (i.e. backers who pledge $499 or more). FLUX Studio: User-friendly Interface
FLUX Studio (currently in development) provides user-friendly softwares for more sophisticated design needs. FLUX Studio simplifies the process of 3D modeling, hardware control, and system configuration.
While FLUX Studio is extremely intuitive and easy for beginners, the advanced settings also provide a robust tool for professional users.
FLUX was built from scratch. We gathered the team and each member wrote down all the functions and capabilities we wanted in FLUX. Some were attainable while some were just fantasy, but that’s where our dream started.
We took the best parts of open source designs and infused them with our own ideas. Our dream took shape with the rotatable base for the scanner, interchangeable modules, and seamless integration of software and hardware.
We have been through 4 different prototype versions and built over 30 working units. We showcased our creation at Maker Faire. We are now ready to take the next step of mass production.
We want to create a 3D printing lifestyle where everyone can explore his or her creativity. To enable this lifestyle, FLUX is priced within the reach of most households.
Our machine is fully functional as demonstrated by our video. Our current main priority is to begin mass production. Building a single prototype and producing in large quantities are two different things. We are doing everything we can to provide you the best product, but we will need your support for our project and our dream.
While we prepare for mass production, we are putting on the final touches to refine the existing integration of the software and hardware.
We are a young, but professional team from Taiwan. We have recruited top talent who share the same passion for 3D printing and the dream to bring 3D printing into everyone’s lives.

Our team slowly came together through previous business projects, where we not only acquired knowledge and experience in a range of fields, but also learned how to work seamlessly as a team. Risks and challenges
No one wants to see a good idea executed poorly. We have worked extremely hard to prepare this product for manufacturing, but we still face several challenges.
For a high quality machine, we require precise parts. Therefore, we decided to produce our parts with injection molding. Injection molding requires large capital expenses, which means that we need to secure a very reliable manufacture partner that will deliver great quality. We have talked to many reliable manufacturers in Taiwan who would like to support our production. All we need is the capital to execute mass production. There is typically a 60-day lead time to fabricate the molds, and this is where delays may occur because we strictly demand the best quality for our parts. To prevent this delay, we have also been working hard with mold design specialists.
SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS
Our components can be divided into two categories: injection molding parts and other parts. We have already secured some of the suppliers for the other components. The remaining issue is setting up warehouses for the production line. This is why we are constantly working with supply chain specialists to establish an efficient and reliable production line – so that we can deliver this amazing product to you as soon as possible.
Don't worry! Our product manual will contain detailed usage and debugging instructions to help you to get started with FLUX. We will also offer support regarding repairs and questions. And of course, if you run into problems, you can always ask questions and discuss with us via email or on the fan page.
You can use our simple and intuitive Creative Apps to try 3D modeling, and design 3D models you like. Or, you can find many interesting 3D files on 3D file-sharing sites on the internet, such as MyMiniFactory or Thingiverse. And we are exploring the possibility of cooperating with 3D file platforms in the hope of integrating search functionality for them into FLUX Studio so that you can find models from within the application.

We haven't yet decided the exact post-campaign prices, but we do know that the prices in this campaign now are the most amazing.
Besides printing functionality, FLUX has a built-in 3D scanner to help you scan real-world objects. The modular design allows you to extend the 3D printing functionality with capabilities such as laser engraving, dual color printing, and food printing. Moreover, with our integrated hardware and software design team, we hope to offer a more seamless and streamlined user experience.
We will send the backer survey after the campaign ends, and in the survey you will be asked to enter your shipping address.
Shipping to Taiwan costs $20. Shipping to the US costs $25. Shipping to Hong Kong, China, Japan, South Korea, or Singapore costs $50. Shipping to rest of the world costs $75. When you enter your pledge, enter the country / region you want it to be shipped to. The shipping fee will be automatically added to the pledge amount.
Yes, every FLUX 3D printer comes with a 3D scanning module. This is an exclusive discount in this campaign! The laser engraving module is optional, however.
METAL FLUX is limited to 15 units in the world. It is a custom product that will be independently designed and produced. The structure will be more sturdy and every part will be made with better details and appearance. Also, we can engrave any custom text you want on the machine.
Basically, they are the same. But the FIRST BATCH option offers the first 50 FLUX 3D printers in the world. Besides getting FLUX earlier than all others, you will get a FLUX with a unique serial number. This is our way of saying thank you for supporting the development of FLUX.
After the campaign is successfully funded, we will send the backer survey to let you choose the colors.
Yes, you can add extra $18 to get one more roll of 500g PLA. Add extra $36 to get two more rolls, and so on. After you use up the filaments, you can order official filaments on our website, or buy filaments in other brick-and-mortar and online stores. Our printing module is compatible with all standard 1.75 mm diameter PLA filaments.
Yes, you can choose the EARLY BIRD option, enter the place you want to ship to, and then add extra $80 to the pledge amount. So, the best price to get all the functions is $(499 + shipping fee + 80), which is limited to 200 sets. The second best price to get all the functions is $(549 + shipping fee + 80), which is limited to 400 sets.
Yes, compared to other delta-type 3D printers, FLUX is very sturdy. However, the printing quality depends on the moving accuracy of the machine. Any disturbance should be avoided to get the best printing quality.

We redesigned every part with modularization in mind. Assembly is easy and only takes about 10 minutes. The parts are durable enough to withstand repeated reassembly, especially the magnetic toolhead, which is designed for frequent changes.
All connections are located at the side of the base and inside the body. The filament insert is on the side near the top.
Of course you can! See FLUX as a robotic arm, which moves accurately and quickly in three-dimensional space. For example, you can develop a ketchup drawing module for omelets.
FLUX reads gcode instructions and has an extra I/O interface for you to control. You can use the FLUX Open SDK to develop toolheads and extruders, install sensors, and so on. You could even make FLUX a walking robot. FLUX Open SDK will be available at the time of shipping, and there will be a detailed development manual and tutorials.

All of our apps are available on Android and iOS. We plan to support Windows Phone at a later date. If you don't have a smartphone, you can also use your computer. FLUX Panel is available on Windows, OS X and Ubuntu.
FLUX Studio is a software suite for the machine; the core component is the monitoring interface FLUX Air / FLUX Panel, which allows you to control FLUX easily on your mobile phones and computers. The iPad app shown in the video is one of our Creative Apps, which help you realize your creative ideas in various ways. And each module will also have their own interface: FLUX Print for 3D printing, FLUX Structure for 3D scanning and FLUX Laser for laser engraving. The suite will be available at the time of shipping.
Sure! You can choose to use your favorite slicer to operate the printing.
Please look at the detailed SPECIFICATION in the campaign. The "D" stands for "diameter" and the "H" stands for "height". The maximum shape for printing or scanning is a cylinder.
FLUX now prints PLA. Other various materials will be supported through extensions in the future. For example, high-melting-point plastic (carbon fiber, nylon, graphene, etc.) and pastry materials (silicone, clay, jam, etc.) will be supported.
We will offer great tools to solve the problem when the products are shipped.
It depends on the weight of the part. If you use PLA filament costing $18 / 500g, a 10-gram 10-cm toy will cost around $0.36.
The point accuracy of scanning is 2-3 mm. An example is displayed in the GALLERY. New demos will be shared through updates of the project!
We will provide hexagon papers with a grid so that you can align objects waiting to be engraved with the grid being displayed in the software.
In this campaign we select 200 mW laser head, mainly used for engraving. Laser modules with other amounts of power will be developed and made available after this project.
There are two kinds of usage, engraving and cutting. For engraving, we support any forms of images, like BMP, PNG and JPG. For cutting, vector graphics are needed, currently we support AI, PDF and DXF, and you may use Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, CorelDRAW or other software that supports those file formats.
We plan to develop a module for ABS. However, we still recommend using PLA, since it is non-toxic and our printing head is optimized for it. We will keep you informed on the latest progress.
CNC milling, dual extruder, pastry extruder are still in development planning, so there is no set availability date yet. However, we will update the Kickstarter page and our official fan page whenever we make progress on and test the modules! What we can guarantee is that by the time FLUX reaches your hands, you will certainly have more modules available for purchase!
