The above footage will be part of a larger featurette that chronicles production, post-production, and the countless ideas that didn't make it into the book (my bundle of scrap pages is scarily-cool, kinda like those composition books in Se7en).

Let's talk numbers. I've got 40 of 67 pages done or near completion. If I don't re-do any of them (for continuity errors or mistakes) I am hoping to keep a schedule that lets me finish in 3 months without destroying my neck / spinal cord.

Thank you so much for bearing with me as I try something different. And by "different" I mean like Edward Gorey. Hope you all celebrated his birthday yesterday with negative space and cats.

PS- Thanks to everyone that sent sweet inspirations! Each and every one made me laugh & feel very lucky.

PPS- I'm gonna be at TCAF in Toronto this year! I hope you Canadians hit me up / chastise me in person. Unless the book's done (by some miracle), I hope to have some posters available.

PPPS- I'm talking to my publisher about signing each of the books before it goes out to you (instead of a paste-in book plate). No promises yet, but I'm looking into various ways that I can reward you guys for your amazing patience. Let me know if you have any ideas.

My 2 yr old daughters favorite book is the Trial of Colonel Sweeto and other stories. (She likes the colors)
This book is going to be great.

Can anyone tell me how to update my mailing address on my profile? I really want to get this book when it comes out, but I moved more than a year ago, and I'm finding that aspect of Kickstarter on the obtuse side. It's more than happy to take my Web site, but I don't have one of those. I have a house. (Forgive me: I am old.)

Ultra-Patience Reward: Short film of the Author enjoying a sandwich of his choice on a grassy hilltop while a chorus of Little Deaths dance to Ranz Des Vaches. (Or Beethoven's 6th Symphony, 1st or 5th Movements. Or the Marriage of Figaro, if you really wanna be outré. I'm clutching my pearls just thinking about it.)

Craig, the music is from the John Lennon-produced arthouse film "El Topo". The track name is called "Vals Phantasma", I believe.

Wonderful video you have there. I am beyond excited to see the final product, but even seeing this video is joy enough. Very well put together, your apartment looks beautiful and that music, WOW. Please do tell what the song/album is?

Love the video Nick. I am so, so excited for this book. Your work is fantastic.

A documentary on the process would be a brilliant way to further reward our patience :)

Keep on scratching! You'll know when the book is ready to share with the world. I'm looking forward to that day.

Love it! Thanks for the update. BTW: Our cat makes every space a negative space, so we're always good for a proper celebration in this house.

I am beyond overjoyed about this book and the fact that it has taken some time is good, as it makes me forget and then get excited all over again! Good luck and I hope you make it down to Houston sometime!
