Tank Masters playing cards is the original deck created by Sviatoslav Pashchuk. It illustrates the bravest men and women, who fought in tank divisions during World War II. Cards depict not only people, but also the most popular tanks from that period.
In this project there are two types of decks: the Liberators Deck and the Invaders Deck (stretch goal #3).
These 2 decks represent 8 different countries that took part in World War II. The countries are divided into Invaders and Liberators according to the powers they belonged to, namely Axis and Allied powers. The only exception is USSR, which was included into the Invaders deck, as it was the aggressor in World War II towards Poland.

The art of the decks consists of many details that have symbolic meaning. Kings, Queens and Jacks have different ornamental elements. Bay leaves on the Kings mean the glory and greatness of the winners; the sword is used as a symbol of leadership and intellect; the skull symbolizes the fearlessness of death. Lilies on the Queens symbolize the feminine origin; the arrows are the sign of hitting the enemy; the heart symbolizes the greatness of spirit. Oak leaves on the Jacks symbolize male strength; the ax is a symbol of the heroic valor and the chalice symbolizes immortality.
The characters are made by the engraving technique in a realistic manner, and tank images have decorative aspect due to the thick contour.
Historic state flags of 1940-1945 were used for Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks. They show the belonging of the hero or a tank to a particular country.
Both boxes are made in a style that resembles dashboards in tanks during the Second World War. I tried to recreate the kind of heavy equipment control panel with buttons and metal shields. The design represents decorative elements of oak leaves and bay leaves, as well as symbols worn on military forms of that period. On the back of the boxes there is a list of countries represented in each deck, as well as the Latin idiom.
