So I'll be using the funds from this project to pay for the musicians (Sam Wilson, Brian Caputo and Mike Clem), studio time, mixing, mastering, printing and album art. The project itself will be about $5,000, but I'm only asking for $3,000. I'll be doing the final $2,000 (which I almost have).
I'll be doing the mixing and mastering so that I could have the album "radio-ready." Hopefully, with that, I'll be able to do some more publicity, which is actually the root of me doing the second album now, opposed to later on. I was going to hold off and save some money, but I have met a few people who are going to be able to help me get my music to a broader audience. And I would much rather have a professional album be passed around than an album recorded in basements.
Risks and challenges
I can't foresee too many risks and challenges for the project. All I really have to worry about is getting it done in a timely manner. I have already arranged most of the details for the project. Sam and I have sat down and discussed what we both envision for it, and we are on the same page.
Currently, my main point of unknown is the album art. I'm looking into getting some photos taken for it.
